Trying to reassure herself that he would not be killed that easily, the girl meekly returned to her quarters and got to work, after letting an exhausted sigh while staring at the pile of worksheets on her table.

Chapter 15

"Are you going to Scabourogh Fair~"

"Parsley sage, rosemary and thyme~"

"Remember me, to one who lives there~"

"For once she was a true love of mine~" Takashi sang along with the soft tune that resonated within the walls of the mansion. Following that, he hummed the tune of the song as he proceeded to explore the mansion.

The mansion was a huge place, and since he'll be stuck here till who knows when, Takashi thought, why not take the chance to explore. After all, a chance in a mansion rare enough, talk about living in one.

Sliding his finger tips against the dark-coloured walls and letting his onyx eyes roam the interior, Takashi made a mental map in the back of his head. His fingers skimmed across gothic furniture, dark red patterns lining the walls, antique lamps and large windows, admiring their texture and sophistication.

"Have her find me an acre of land~ Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme~ Between the sea foam and over the sand~ And then she'll be-"

"A true love of mine~"

The next step froze in the air, as Takashi halted his movements. An intruder. Starting with a light tone, Takashi called, "Well, didn't know you for the singing type, Laito."

His signature giggle resonated through the empty halls before he strolled past Takashi, who watched from the corner of his eyes. "How wonderful to have you see a talented side of me~ That's not my only talent though..." The male with a fedora stopped in his tracks, before glancing over his shoulder at you with a glint in his green irises, a smirk plastered on his pale lips. "Want to see them, Raven-chan?"

Takashi opened his mouth, about to reject the vampire's offer. But before he could let out a sound, Laito cut in again, "Though," the vampire fully turned to face you, a dangerous expression on his features, "I'm more interested in you, Raven-chan."

Adjusting his posture, Takashi gave the vampire an awkward smile, "Whatever could you mean, Laito-san?" Though, it wasn't hard to miss the slight twitch of his finger.

The grinning male only took a step forward. "Such a bad girl, lying to your guardians." Takashi held his ground, fixating his glare on the approaching vampire who had an unwavering smirk. "What have your parents taught you? That you shouldn't lie to anyone, hm, Raven-Chan?" Laito questioned teasingly, like how a parent would teach their child. Bringing his slender fingers up, Laito softly caressed the dark hair of the 'boy' in front of him, grinning wider when he felt him tense under his touch.

His glowing green eyes scanned the emotionless expression on his prey's face, mentally imagining that face contorted in different kind of pained expression. Ah, it really gave him that rush of excitement and warmth he hasn't felt in ages. "Why don't you be more honest with yourself?" Laito lowered his hand until it rested on the soft and warm cheeks of the unmoving human, slowly inching towards his neck. Those green orbs trailed down to stare at the exposed skin peeking through the gaps of the uniform, as if in a trance. "There's nothing wrong with being a woman. That makes you all the more appealing. Trust me, Raven-chan~"

Laito felt the rush of blood and warmth through his body. Drowning in euphoria, the vampire slowly inched towards the unmarked skin, his mouth enlarging, fangs sharpening, the desperate feeling filling his mind to the brim.

"On second thought," Laito heard his prey started, causing him to pause for a millisecond. Big mistake.

A sharp jab connected with Laito's jaw, snapping it close and causing his head to reel backwards from the impact. Gritting his teeth, Laito's green orbs momentarily met mischievous onyx ones before he flew back, landing on the ground with a hard thud.

Laito could only laugh at his, yet again, underestimation. Footsteps echoed in the hallways before a pair of shoes came into his view. Picking up his fallen fedora, Laito chuckled, "Heh, Feisty. Not bad, Raven-chan." He lifted his dark gaze, his smirking expression meeting a pair of dark onyx eyes, that held a hint of disdain.

"Your kind is the last I would I want to be honest to, pervert." The standing male threw a lazy smirk down at the fallen male, before he turned on his heel and strode away.

Darkened green eyes stayed on the leaving figure. With lips curving into a smile and a heavy red tint across his cheeks, Laito's chuckle resonated within the walls. "Ahh~ That was great!" The hallways suddenly plunged into silence as the male's eyes glinted red in the darkened halls, not shifting from the end of the hallway where his prey disappeared. "But...I'm more of a sadist, Raven-chan~" his grin widened till the tips touched his ears,

"I'll come with the perfect punishment for you. HAHAHAHAhahahaha!"

"Stupid pervert!" Takashi grumbled under his breath, eyes glaring holes onto the ground as he hissed every few seconds. It was too close, Takashi knew, too close for comfort. The millions chills down his spine and the standing hairs on his skin didn't need to keep reminding him. It was too dangerous. But, he was partly glad that he didn't succumb to the feeling of cowering back then. He stood his ground, and he was rather proud of it. Though he needed to be more careful, since that vampire jumps on every girl he sees. Since he found out, Takashi was no exception. So before he finds a way out of this crazy mansion with his sister, he can't die just yet.

Bam! Takashi hissed in pain, reeling back and rubbing on his forehead, the point of contact. "Ow!" The throbbing pain slowly subsided the more he rubbed. Throwing a glare at the door that hit him, Takashi lifted a brow. A..door? Turning, Takashi scanned his surroundings, only to find them completely unfamiliar. He groaned, "Great."

The door in front of him slowly creaked open, bringing his onyx eyes back to it. Spotting a faint green glow from the slight opening, curiosity killed the cat. A grin grew on his lips. "Unexplored area, here I come."

Creak! The door moved inwards as a pair of onyx eyes peeled into the room, darting about as they scanned the insides. Takashi waited till the gap was large enough before taking a step, and another, and closed the door, making sure that it was still slightly ajar so he was sure he would not be locked inside.

Takashi's eyes could only widen as he scanned the interior of the room.
