Liz,
I'm sorry that I can't make it for our weekly movie marathon. Pepper just has me swamped with things to do plus the expo. I hope you can understand. I'll try and see you tonight.
Love, TonyPS. there are microwave popcorn bags and fruit snacks in the pantry if you get hungry. Go crazy with it kid.
Alyssa sighed when she saw the note on the fridge door. Pepper would have allowed her to attend the expo conference if she wanted to but Alyssa refused.
Her condition wasn't improving and memories plagued the young girl's dreams. Curse you Obie. It has been over a year and still she struggles.
Alyssa was too old for them now. The almost 10 -year-old wanted nothing more than to be free of her brain.
Free of the lies.
Free of the memories.
She misses Tony, her father, Iron man.
The girl popped a bag of corn and plopped down on the couch. Pepper would be home soon and Alyssa wanted to get rid of the evidence as soon as possible. The red-head would be angry at the girl for spoiling her dinner.
It seems just like yesterday that her mother had died. That Tony took her in. She missed her.
Samantha is dead and Alyssa can't do a thing about it.
The girl sighed and flipped through the channels. It wasn't long until she found the right one.
Bingo.
She watched as a man in a red and gold suit swooped down from an aircraft. He opened up his arms and bright fireworks echoed in the sky.
Alyssa let a small smile cross her face.
She was glad her father was happy. The camera followed the metal man down. The girl watched her father land on the stage with a clang.
The crowd roared. Alyssa rolled her eyes and clapped along as well. She then saw the hardly dressed cheerleaders and cringed lightly.
Why?Alyssa enjoyed being part of the action, but, she didn't like the crowds. The people, the screaming.
Being the daughter of a celebrity/superhero sucks.
"It's good to be back. You missed me?" Tony said soaking in the applause and screams."Blow something up!" A voice screamed from the crowd.
Alyssa sighed and rolled her eyes.
He already did.
"I missed you too. Blow something up? I already did that. " Tony said again.
Alyssa snorted and snuggled deeper into the blanket. She squeezed her pink bunny and took a sip from her drink.
A loud snore echoed across the room. Sitting in the arm chair was Alyssa's babysitter or nanny which Pepper called her.
Ms. Briggs was an old lady; she had prominent wrinkles and glowing grey hair. She dropped the knitting needles that she was holding and a ball of yarn rolled on the floor.
Alyssa likes that woman. She was bright and intelligent and told good stories. Most of which made fun of Alyssa's generation.
A soft snort and rolling of her eyes brought the girl's attention once more to the screen.
"I'm not saying that the world is enjoying its longest period of uninterrupted peace in years because of me. "
