Lost in the Moment

Desolate feelings began the moment. When they looked upon each other, it was uneasy. They couldn't stand each other. Or, so they thought.

With this undeniable hatred for the other, it couldn't be denied that their feelings were.. mutual. Not in the way you are thinking, they were actually in love with the other.

It was destiny, they were meant to be together. But they didn't know that.

"I can't stand you!" Ellyra screamed in Auckland's face. "You're an idiot!"

True to his name, Auckland replied in his Kiwi accent. "I'm an idiot?" He laughed, brushing his hair back with his hand. "I don't believe you."

"I can't hear you. Your accent is too thick, oh wait that's just you." She smirked, proud of herself.

"I'm done." He said, completely fed up. "I can't handle you, or your insults anymore."

He walked away. She didn't want that. She still wanted to be there, she wanted him to be there. But must he know? Did he care?

The answer was yes, he didn't want to leave her. So when he felt her hand on his arm, he turned around, meeting the eyes of Ellyra. Pleading.

"I'm sorry." She apologized. "I need to confess something."

His heart raced, continue staring into her eyes. "Me too."

She grabbed his face. "I've never hated you, I've just always found picking on you to be my. . .way of showing you. . ."

"Affection?" He asked, knowing the feeling. "I get that."

"So, um." Staring into his eyes, she slowly moved in. Unaware that people around them were watching. They knew the two, always fighting. Non stop. So why did it all of a sudden change?

His eyes, changed her. The way he looked at her when he'd had enough. She didn't want it to change, because it was attention she always got from him. Auckland's side was different, but he never shared that aloud.

"I love you, Elly. I always have." Auckland whispered. Kissing her passionately, but softly. Showing her the attention she so often craved but never got.

One kid, knowing their affection for each other was mutual, clapped upon seeing the two kiss finally. Then the whole class erupted, and the moment ended. But they were happy, as cheesy as it sounded.

Who would really know if their love would last, or their bickering would stop. But in that moment, the one solitary moment, they were.
