"alright, are you both finished" I looked up at Gil double checking with him, he nodded
"yes I believe we are, thank you,"
"alright well I'll go grab the bill for you two," the waitress walked off and I grabbed my coat from the back of my chair.

"so here's the bill will you be paying by cash or card?" I grabbed my purse,
"Er card please,"
"Wait no anne, I'll pay," gilbert jumped in-front before I could argue and put his card in the machine.
"Blythe I could of payed."
"I know you could of cherry blossom, but it was my treat," he winked at me as he held the door open and I rolled my eyes at the boy's stupidity.

outside the rain was pouring it down and I pulled my jacket over my head, we weren't expecting rain so I bought my jacket not my coat.
"here stand with me" I looked to see that gilbert has bought an umbrella,
"I don't need your shelter Blythe,"
"So you'd rather get soaked huh Shirley," the boy was smirking and raised an eyebrow, he knew he was right but I wasn't going to give in.
"Yes I'd rather get soaked Blythe" I continued walking down the sidewalk, rain dripping through my amber hair.

she continued walking down the sidewalk, rain dripping through her amber hair, she looked like a mess, a beautiful one though.

I caught up with her and raised the umbrella enough that it covered her, she didn't want it but I didn't want her getting to cold and wet.

We walked until we got outside a dress shop, Anne had stopped in front of the window and I could see the glimmer in her eyes, a particular shine when she met with an emerald cross-stitched back dress. god, I could only imagine her in that, if looks could kill.

"After I've sold my books and I've earned enough money for my family that will be the first thing I buy" she turned to face me
"Why can't you buy it now?" I asked
"Because I want to earn it Blythe" she stood proud and the rain dripped down her shoulders, the streets were clear since everyone had gone inside.

"You know anne you don't have to earn everything, somethings are gifts" I stood closer to her now and held the umbrella above us

"Yes but gilbert I want to earn things, I want to deserve them" she was inches away from me now

"oh Anne you deserve so much already"
"I do?"
"yes Anne, you make everything so much brighter and right now there's one thing you could do to make the sun shine"
