"he's back!" I squealed as Jesse walked back in with our baby boy in his arms
"and he's tiny" Jesse laughed "5 pounds 9 ounces"
"awe he's got his daddy's skinny legs does he?" I chuckled laying him on my chest
"we made him" Jesse said holding back tears
"all our love for each other, is shown by this tiny little human, all his little fingers and toes" I said stroking his cheeks
"so we're gonna have to keep you in for a week or two because he is premature so we just want to be sure that he'll be happy and healthy by the time you go home" the nurse explained "do you have a name yet?"
"multiple" Jesse sighed
"Jaydon, Theo and Nate to name a few" I added
"what do you think?" Jesse asked
"I mean look how happy he looks, I think he's a Nathaniel" I said
"Nathaniel Robert Lingard" he smiled
"my little Natey boy" I giggled as he wrapped his hand around Jesse's finger

jesselingard the hand we'll hold forever @lucylingard_😍 you definitely made a dramatic appearance little man, but at 5 weeks early you're happy and healthy so that's all that matters❤️

"hey it's grandma!" I squealed when my mum walked through the door
"and what about me?" my grandma chuckled as she walked in behind her
"oh my god I didn't know you were coming! meet your great-grandson" I smiled
"the first of many I hope" she said holding him in her arms
"I'm so sorry I couldn't get here in time, how are you feeling" my mum asked
"it's alright none of us expected it Jesse nearly missed it like Dad did with me" I laughed "but it's the hardest thing I've ever done, I don't know if I'll be able to do it again" I sighed
"you say that now, but I know you'd go through something 1000 times harder to get a baby as gorgeous as this little one" my grandma said
"yeah so it's my turn to hold him" my mum whined holding out her hands
"what's his name then?" grandma asked
"Nathaniel, but we're gonna call him Nate" Jesse said
"both Jesse and Nathaniel mean gift and Robert for Dad and Poppa" I explained
"they're gonna love that" mum smiled
"when you going home?" grandma asked Jesse
"well Lucy has to stay in hospital for a couple days and Nate for a week or two so I'll be going back to training once Lucy's out of hospital but visiting every chance I get" he explained
"you don't need to worry too much, grandma's going back to London tomorrow I'm gonna stay up for a while whilst everything settles down" my mum told us
"thanks mum I think I'm gonna need it, Jesse has a massive away game in Spain next week and I really want him to be able to go" I said
"babe, I'm gonna stay here for my family" Jesse announced
"no you're not, we might even be out of hospital by then" I said
"we'll decide later on, but if he's not out of hospital I'm not going" he sighed
