Hermiones pov

I haven't slept properly since pansys party. The thought that Ron was planning something ran around in my head, but things didn't get better "look at this bullshit" Blaise said, handing me the paper at lunch "He's escaped!?" I questioned "apparently so, the ministry has mum in a safe house" Blaise said "what has Mcgonagol said about the whole thing?" Pansy asked "nothing, just that she's going to add some extra protection around the school" Blaise said.

I put my head in my hands and stared at the table, a tired sigh escaping my mouth "I can't do this anymore" I said, rubbing the side of my head "Hey it'll be fine, we'll get through this!" Ginny said. I nodded "where's Theo and Draco?" Ginny asked "practise, why don't we go out and watch? Take your mind off things?" Blaise said, I nodded "wait why aren't you practicing?" Pansy asked him as we walked "I hurt my ankle landing last week so I've to sit out this weeks practise till I get the all clear from pomfry" he said.

As we walked the halls the lowered voices and whispers began, I walked quickly past the crowds to escape them and walked onto the grassy field. It was the end of January so it was still quite cold, I had forgotten my jacket in my dorm so grabbed Draco's off the ground by his water. I waved up at him and he smiled back "here guys take 10!" He shouted flying down. He walked over kissing me quickly "how are you?" He said, obviously figuring out i had found out.

"Pissed...but, trying to ignore it and enjoy my Saturday" I said. "Well, there's only 30 minutes practise left. Why don't we run down to hogsmede after, grab a bunch of sweets and we can watch one of them moving picture things on that Tv thingy you had the headmistress bring in?" He said "I'd like that" I said with a smile, giving him one more kiss before he flew up. I followed his broom as he flew through the sky, the way his eyes followed his team to make sure they were playing right. His tiny smirk every time he watched the Gryffindor team miss a shot across the field.

Soon practise was over and I waited by the changing rooms while he got himself sorted "granger!" I heard a young voice say "mike" I said "I heard your father escaped, too bad. Who do you think he'll kill first, you or your brother?" He asked, sly smile on his face. Seconds later he was on the ground and an angry Blaise stood beside me "YOU dare talk to her like that again I'll make sure you stay on the ground! Now get up  and get changed before I tell Draco!" He said.

Mike quickly got up, running Into the changing room. I turned to Blaise "we need to think of a plan" I said "not today we don't, give that head of yours time to cool down Hermione. I promise on Monday we'll start thinking of things but for now, enjoy your weekend sis. He isn't worth the time" Blaise said, hugging me before walking away with Ginny. Draco came out of the changing room and minutes after we were walking down to honey dukes to grab our sweets.

"Oh grab some chocolate frogs Drake!" I said as we walked around the store, I could never get over the magic that one sweet shop could possess "I got 4, also grabbed some fireballs and a couple pumpkin pasties" he said, I smiled as we approached the till with an armful if sweets "you two must be hungry" Ambrosius Flumes wife said "we are miss flume" I said with a laugh as I went to pull out my purse but it was quickly put away by Draco as he got his

"oh what a gentleman you have dear" Miss flume said, I smiled at her and looked at him "he's the best" I said "oh dear, before you go. I read the papers...if you or your brother are ever in need, there's a passage way through one of the old bathrooms in Hogwarts that'll lead you right here" she whispered in my ear. I looked at her and nodded "thank you" I said "Never a problem dear, you two have a good day!" She said as we walked out. We walked around some more before going to the Weasleys joke shop

"Ahh if it isn't my favourite Zabini" George said, meeting us at the door "hello George" I said with a smile, Draco was still quite awkward round him, unsure how to approach him anytime we were in the shop "Malfoy mate, I've already told you dozens of times we are good. Stop hiding behind your girlfriend and come see this new product I've been working on" George said "won't be a minute Mione!" He finished, dragging away a scared looking Draco.

I laughed as I walked around the crowded store, full of excited 4th-7th years. As I was looking around someone knocked into me "hey watch where yo-" I stopped before finishing my sentence. Once again the familiar green eyes I kept seeing around the place met mine, only this time I could make out the persons face "d..dad?" I whispered but before I knew it he was gone. I ran out the doors following him, down the hill and around the corner but he ran into the forest "hey, what are you doing?" Draco shouted down the hill "I'm coming now, thought I seen something" I said, walking back up the hill....I need to see Blaise.

"Your heads gone Mione" Blaise said as we walked around the black lake. It was 11:30 pm and I had grabbed him from the Slytherin dorm "I swear now I'm not, I seen him. I recognised his eyes, they kept popping up everywhere but then I seen his face" I said "he only escaped today, there's no way he made it to Hogwarts that quickly" he said "but what if he had escaped days ago, weeks even and they just never noticed!" I said "he's one of their main prisoners, they kept eyes on him 24/7" Blaise said

"stop denying the idea that he might be out of Azkaban longer than we think!" I said "I'm not I'm ju-" he began "You are! Don't lie, the idea of him being out longer than they are saying scares me and I know it scares you but us denying the possibility is going to make things worse" I said "so what do we do now?" He asked "I don't know but we need to figure something out and fast" I said. As we were walking away we heard a voice in the forest "Blaise....." it sighed, we turned around Blaises wand pointed out but I had left mine in the dorm so I only had the wand less magic I knew to help

"Hermione..." the voice sighed "whose there" I questioned as we walked towards the voice. The deeper we got into the forest the creepier it got. The voice continued to repeat our names over and over until we hit the edge of our side of the forest "we need to turn back" Blaise said "but we can't We need to know what that was!" I said "that isn't our land, that's centaur land. We can't cross" he said, seconds later I heard the voice. I looked at Blaise before running deeper into the forest "HERMIONE!" Blaise shouted as I followed the voice.

It stopped talking as I hit a clear part of the forest in the shape of a circle "you absolute idiot!" Blaise said as he caught up. My hands were raised infront of me, a slight glow coming from them " shhh" I said, walking around the circle "who goes there!" A tall centaur said as the voice spoke again "we are sorry, we..we heard a voice and followed it. I ignored the barrier and my brother came to get me" I said, just as the centaur was about to speak the voice once again muttered our names

"who goes there!" The centaur said, standing in front of us. The forest was silent "I will lead you out of the forest, be lucky it was me to find you two or this may have been dealt with differently" he said, as we walked we didn't hear a thing "what's your name?" I asked the centaur "Bane" he spoke "Bane...wait do you know Harry? Harry Potter?" I asked "I know of him, he ignored the barriers most of the time too" he said with a small laugh "he tended to ignore most things" I said, "you must be Hermione Zabini then, and then your brother Blaise?" He asked, I nodded

"the centaurs were told about your fathers escape, but we've felt a danger approaching us for much longer than today" Bane said, I looked at Blaise who rolled his eyes "this is you. Please try avoid crossing the barrier again unless you are in desperate danger. I will make the centaurs aware of who you are so if you do ever cross they will not react the way they would normally do" he said "thank you Bane" I said "goodbye!" I said as we walked towards the castle

it was 1am by the time we hit the castle and we weren't even the tiniest bit tired "we need to make a plan and I don't care what you think but Bane was right, there has been a sense of danger far longer than just a day" I said "I know.." Blaise said, I hugged him "I'll see you in the morning, goodnight" I said, walking the opposite direction to him. When I entered the common room it was dark. I quietly walked up the stairs and got changed, walking into Draco's room. He was fast asleep, a slipped in beside him carefully and he immediately wrapped his arms round me. I cuddled into him. For the first time tonight I felt safe.
