A sword was at her throat.

Ka Koubon was laying at her feet, bleeding, because of her.

"Now, your majesty, you can make it easy and don't move it all, or you can watch your little friend here be stabbed a little bit more" the general chilly said

Kougyoku couldn't even listen.

She was only looking at Ka Koubon.

His stomach was punctured and she could imagine the pain he felt.

The bile was destroying the insides, burning the organs.

He coughed. Blood was spilling out of his mouth.

Then, she saw more blood, and more blood.

She couldn't take it.

She screamed.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

The general's eyes went wide and then he raised his sword to strike her.

"I told you to SHUT UP" the general yelled as he brought down the fatal hit.

Kougyoku wasn't even paying attention and she dropped down and started crying loudly.

The sword was still coming towards her.

She only looked up for a second, only to see the sword a few inches away from her.

She didn't move and she didn't want to.

She closed her eyes. Preparing for her death.

CLANG!

She opened her eyes to see Aladdin, in front of her, with his borg activated.

"What the hell are you doing, Kougyoku!!!" Aladdin shouted.

Kougyoku's eyes widened.

"Why did you save me???" Kougyoku screamed at Aladdin.

Aladdin looked at her frail body and then, he saw Ka Koubon.

His anger grew and the fear of his power grew as well.

"Dhoruf" he said and with that the general's sword was blown away and the general fell to the ground.

Saito tried standing up, but Aladdin put his staff at his throat.

"No movement" Aladdin chilly says.

Saito  looks at his eyes and then he seats back down.

Aladdin turns to Kougyoku and leans to see her eyes.

"Kougyoku, calm down, Ka Koubon is going to be okay"

But, he knew that was a lie.

He could see the bile already destroying some of his important organs.

He puts his hand near his wound, and he could feel the heat of the wound, and smell the stench of the mix of acidic juices and blood.

He was not going to make it.

"NO YOU'RE LYING, TELL ME TRUTH."  Kougyoku screams and cries in her palms.

"Calm down, Kougyoku, I told he is going to be fine"

"NO, HE ISN'T"

Aladdin sighs and put his staff down and grabs the general, and then turns to Kougyoku.

"You stay here, and I will return with medics"

And with that, Aladdin left his staff and dragged Saito out of the tent.

Kougyoku continuing crying in her palms

"It's... al.l ..my.. fault" she says as she cries.

"Prin..cess"

She looks down with her teary eyes to see Ka Koubon's bloody face facing her.

"Don't ..cry"

Oh, how could she not. Her precious friend was dying in front of her!!

"I can't  stop" as tears continue rolling down her cheeks.

Ka Koubon looked at her with a pained and sad smile.

He slowly raised his hand to touch her cheeks and slowly wiped her tears.

"I kn..ow yo.u can't sto..p, and its ok.ay" he said with a soft voice.

"So ..plea..se promise me this." he continued and waved his hand, indicating her to come closer.

Kougyoku looked up with tears in her eyes and leaned closer.

Ka Koubon whispered something in her ear and Kougyoku leaned back shocked.

"But what about you??? You can still make it!" she said

Ka Koubon looked at her face and remembered the little girl he met so long ago.

He recalled his goal of gaining more power.

In the end, he did gain more power, but not the type of power that he wanted before.

He gained the power of love and friendship.

"Prince..ss, please pro..mise m.e" he slowly said.

Kougyoku did not meet his eyes and looked down.

"I promise" she quietly said.

Ka Koubon smiled sincerely this time.

He slowly grabbed her hand and used the rest of his consciousness to squeeze her hand and recited the words that Kougyoku would never forget.

"Thank you for everything, Kougyoku"

And with that Ka Koubon took his last breath and his hand went limp in Kougyoku's grasp.

She wailed and cried.

For her companion  that could never be replaced.
