A Champions Beginning

When One Door Closes, Another One Opens!

Ash Ketchum pushed his way through reporters and paparazzi as he attempted to reach his friends. Not only had the Kalos League come to a conclusion, resulting in Ash placing second, but Team Flare had also been defeated and the world had been saved. For Ash, such events were the norm but for the others; it was chaos.

"Ash!" Bonnie exclaimed as Ash finally escaped the crowd, leaving the mass of people to Alain and Diantha.

"Are you alright?" Serena knelt beside the boy as he bent over, catching his breath after having been elbowed by a reporter.

"Y-yeah..." he gasped out, "That hurt."

"So what happens now?" Clemont asked the group, referring to the short amount of time remaining in their journey together.

"How about you all come back to the lab with me for a bit?" the voice of Augustine Sycamore called out to them as the professor walked towards the friends.

"Yeah!" another voice agreed, and Mairin walked into view, grinning at them.

"Sure, let's go then!" Ash exclaimed, earning a small laugh from everyone at his enthusiasm. 

When the four friends plus Mairin and Professor Sycamore arrived at the large lab, they were greeted by a few familiar faces. Serena's mother, Grace Yvonne, stood in the lab waiting for them along with Tierno, Trevor and Shauna.

"Congrats Ash!" Tierno grinned at the other trainer, "You did awesome!"

"Yes, it was truly impressive!" Trevor told him, pulling out his camera, "I even got some good pictures."

"Mom!" Serena leaped into her mothers arms, "Hi!"

"Oh my baby girl!" Grace hugged the girl back, "I'm just so happy you're safe."

"Clemont! Bonnie!" another voice called out, the voice of Meyer.

Greeting were passed around, and after a while Alain arrived as well; much to Mairin's glee. They all laughed and smiled the rest of the day away and the following morning Clemont set off to Prism Tower to take care of some things. The aftermath of the Team Flare attack was cleaned up in the following days, buildings were repaired and roads were redone as the whole city worked together with their pokemon to fix what damage had been dealt.

"Pi! Pika Pikachu!" Pikachu ran towards the tall building that was Prism Tower, Ash, Clemont, and Bonnie in tow.

"Hold on buddy!" Ash exclaimed, chasing after the small electric type pokemon, "What's all this?"

"This is our way of cheering up the city!" the voice of Serena told him as the honey blonde haired girl walked up to him.

Serena wore her performance dress, and Shauna stood beside her in her own outfit.

"You did this?" Ash asked the girls, impressed with their idea, "It's amazing!"

A large stage was set up in front of Prism Tower and as night fell the performance began. Fireworks went off in the sky as Serena and Shauna danced with their pokemon, soon joined by Jessilee. The citizens of Lumiose City all stared in wonder and cheered as the girls danced and the lights flashed around them. Ash looked around him and saw people dancing and smiling, his face fell briefly as he realized what came next.

'No! I don't want to think about that right now, this is a good day!' the boy thought to himself as he put a smile back on his face, ready to enjoy the night.

Ash, Serena, Clemont and Bonnie all sat around the table in Meyers house.
