Awaiting The Day Of The Double Challenge!

"We should name Riolu!" Serena spoke up as they walked along the path to Cerulean City.

"Name it?" Ash looked over to her.

"Yeah," she nodded, "If we're supposed to be its parents then we should name it."

"Make it something super cute!" Bonnie exclaimed, grinning up at them.

"Bonnie, not everything has to be cute." Clemont told her, "Besides, it's really up to Ash since he hatched it and caught it."

"You're so insensitive big brother." Bonnie sighed at her sibling, "Oh well."

"How about..." Ash trailed off as he tried to think of names.

Riolu smiled up at its adoptive parents, and Ash couldn't help but notice that on its yellow side was a slightly longer fang.

"That's it!" he exclaimed, "Fang!"

"Fang?" Serena looked at him, puzzled by his sudden idea, "Why Fang?"

"Look," Ash held up the small fighting type in his hands, "Smile for your mommy, okay?"

Serena looked at the Riolu as it smiled, she noticed the small fang that poked out. She smiled back, "I like it!"

"How about you, do you like it Fang?" Ash set the pokemon down and it cried out happily in confirmation.

"Alright!" Ash grinned at Fang, "Let's get a-"

Ash noticed something hit the ground in front of him, then a cloud of smoke suddenly appeared all around them. 

"Prepare for trouble, now we're back home!"

"And make it double, we're free to roam!"

"To protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all peoples within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

"It's Jessie!"

"And here's James!"

"Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!"

"Surrender now, or prepare for one thieving fight!"

"Meowth! That's right!"

"Not them..." Bonnie groaned, Dedenne hopping out of her bag.

Ash went to grab a pokeball but Fang  stopped him, growling at Team Rocket.

"You wanna take them on?" Ash questioned, "All right then!"

"Sylveon!" Serena called out her pokemon, "Let's make sure we're ready to help!"

"Syl!" Sylveon nodded as it appeared.

"Luxray, you be ready to!" Clemont called out the electric type.

James smirked and tossed out a pokeball, "Let's go, Nidoran!"

Fang readied itself for a fight, looking to Ash for a command.

"Fang! Use Quick Attack!" Ash called out to the fighting type.

"Nidoran, Peck!"

Fang slammed its body into Nidoran, and Nidoran jabbed Fang with its horn; both pokemon were sent backwards. Ash called for another Quick Attack, and Fang shot off towards Nidoran; it slammed into it again and sent it back towards James.

"Nidoran!" James returned the pokemon and glared at Ash, "Inkay! Join the fray!"

"Fang! It's to high a level for you right now!" Ash told the fighting type and it nodded, "Pikachu! Thunderbolt!"
