"Girl, you need to relax. I saw that text message and was tempted to call you. Instead, I decided to let fate work things out. And don't worry about the weed. It's crap anyway. Unless you want some, then it could be good."
It was a nice offer. "Oh, no thanks. I don't smoke."
"Good. Drugs are illegal for a reason." He spat on the ground. "What do you say, we go get lunch? It'll be my treat."
For a moment, I stood silent, not sure how to respond. With a smile on his face, he walked up to me and whispered in my ear.
"Do I frighten you, Giselle. Tell me. What's my name?"
My body stood there frozen. "Giselle. I mean no. Isn't it Ricky?"
I never saw someone laugh hard as he did. "Calm down girl. All we're doing is getting lunch? We'll be back in time. Or maybe we won't. I don't always check my phone."
