Chapter 5: Honey, I'm Home! - Part 2

Monsé's point of view:

When I got home from Josie's, I went to my room. When I grabbed my phone, there was a text from someone. Tyler.

Tyler: Hey Monsé. Look outside.

Me: Why?

Tyler: Just do it.

I looked outside and stared with shock. Andrew was standing outside my window smiling his cheesy, charming, cute grin.

"Oh my God. What the hell are you doing here. You moved to Georgia!", I yelled.

"I came back to visit.", he answered. "Is that a problem?"

"No-yes-I don't know. Look, you've been gone for 13 months. You can't just show up out of nowhere. Things are different." I took a step back. "I'm different."

"Different? Different how?", he asked.

"I'm-I'm a lesbian.", I replied.

He laughed. He was...relieved?

"Your relieved?", I asked.

"Yeah. That saves me the trouble of having to break up with you because, well, I'm gay too.", he says sheepishly.

"Ha! I knew it! All those times I caught you staring at Joshua or Kaleb; why didn't you tell me before?"

"I didn't want to hurt you."

I didn't know what to say to that. He was putting up with something even though it hurt him. Do you love me? I asked him mentally. Is that why you didn't say anything? Because you love me? Or because you didn't know how? Why?

"Do you love me?", I asked. "Is that why you didn't want to hurt me?"

"Maybe. But if I'm being honest, only as a friend...."

"I get it. That's how I feel about you. Be-T-Dubs, I might have gotten a girlfriend...."

"I may have gotten a boyfriend....he lives here too. His name starts with a K"

"OMG who?!"

"Who's your girlfriend?"

"Josie Lovejoy. The sophomore who I would talk about all the time."

Andrew cursed under his breath and said "I should go. It was nice seeing you."

"Wait, why are you leaving."

"Um, I have to do something, ya know? Bye"

And with that, he ran off.
