First day of School. How great...
Not.
I get out of bed and get dressed. My choice for the day being a black tube skirt and a loose pastel blue blouse, with some black flats. First day there... I wanna look half-okay. After applying some light makeup, I straighten my hair. I have a case packed full of everything I need, and I'm all set to start there. It's gonna be horrible, I can already tell. A load of stuck up bitches thinking they own the place. Guys who think they can win any girl they want. I am dreading it. When we turn up and get my dorm and everything sorted, I have to say bye to Mom and she gets all teary and cries. So embarrasing. Turns out I'm sharing a dorm with someone, but I don't know who, seeing as she's probably already in one of her classes. It takes me a while to get everything unpacked, but when I'm all done, I grab my schoolbag and fetch my timetable from the student office. Luckily, I remembered the way there from the tour with Mr Downey, but when I see my first class, I have absolutely no clue how to get there. It's English Lit. It says it's in the English Building, which is stating the obvious, then Corridor Two, Classroom Ten. This place is like a maze! I don't even know my way to the English Building. I don't even know where the hell my dorm is. After a twenty minute search, I'm at least in the right building. It takes me another five minutes to find the classroom. I enter quietly, although every pair of eyes in the room is on me. I find an empty desk and sit down next to some guy. He's cute, and his t-shirt is obviously worn to show off his biceps. He looks at me and leans in to whisper. "So you're the rebel everyone's talking about," he says, grinning. I smile in return.
"Guess you could say that."
"Chris," he says holding out a hand. "Chris Evans."
"Oli Olison," I reply, shaking his hand.
"Well isn't that a catchy name huh?" I roll my eyes and get my equipment out my bag. The lesson flies by, probably because I missed fifty minutes of it. But we're soon packed up and the lesson's over. Just as I'm about to walk out the door, I hear a shout. "Hey badass! Meet me after school by the library!" I turn my head to see a smiling Chris.
"Sure thing Evans," I answer, before turning to leave. Next period, I have Drama and Theatrical Arts. The Drama Building is next to the English, and consists of four classrooms as well as a theatre. It's not too hard to find. I'm there on time - So unlike me - and there's about fifteen people who arrive after me. There must be about thirty of us in the class. I take a seat inbetween two girls this time, the one on my right is fair-haired, small, innocent looking. But the one on my left... well... she looks like she has more makeup on than actual face. Yeah, I'll talk to the blonde. "Hey, you been in this class long?"
"Um, well I started here at the start of the year, so about five months."
"Ah, Is it good? The class I mean..."
"Sometimes it's boring, others it's bearable, and on some occasions when we get to do theatre work, it's actually okay."
"Sounds...survivable," I say with a short laugh. She smiles and nods. "I'm Oli, as you coulda guessed, I'm new here."
"I'm Sarah. Yeah, you've earned yourself a little reputation here. People have been spreading a bunch of rumours. Is it true you spat in a teacher's face?"
"Haha! That...uh...yeah, probably. My old math teacher was a right dork." She starts laughing in a shocked way.
"And what about the spitballing? Did you do that too?"
"You know what? No, I don't think I did. I probably should have though. It's a good idea."
We're still talking amongst ourselves when in struts the Drama teacher. Wait, isn't that... I'm sure that's Mr Downey. He's the head? How the hell does that work? Well at least he's not some bitch-teacher, he seemed okay.
