Downey's POV

That Rosie girl is really something different. Damn, she's actually a decent person when she wants to be. She's got so much potential, and I guess it's my mission to improve her. If she won't listen, I'll damn make her listen. That's what teaching's about, right? Everybody listens to me. She'll see. Soon she'll be on the right path if I just lead the way. She'd be quite pretty too, if she got rid of the scowl she has all the damn time.

I sigh, and pack up my things to take back to my office before going home, which just so happens to be around the corner from school. As I make my way to my office through the dormitory halls, I hear screaming and shouting coming from one of the rooms. Is that..? Oh for God's sake...

Angel's POV:

I walk out of the class and head back to my room. My first night here. Yikes... I find my room pretty easily - which, might I add, I am extremely proud of. I take out my dorm key and unlock the door. I see my roommate lying on her bed, a book in front of her face. When I walk in, she drops the book and looks at me with an evil stare. I do not believe it. My roommate is Rebekah. Of all people?! "Oh well this day gets better and better," I mutter.

"You're telling me?" She mutters, thinking I can't hear her. She just eyes me, watching my every move.

"Well you're pretty quiet, considering you have the mouth of a hippo," I joke, smiling while I wait for her reaction.

I don't know why I tease people. Maybe it's because my older sister always got the attention. I haven't even heard from her in years. Yeah I did love her, I mean, she was my sister, but she was always Miss Perfect and I was the one who stood beside her spotlight in the shadows. Apparently she went off to college and just never came home. I don't believe that for one second. She has to be...what, twenty four now?

"How dare you! You bitch! Don't you dare think you can waltz on in here and fuck me over!"

"Why? Because you'd rather be fucked over by your principal? I saw you lookin' at him the way you were!"

"Just because you know an ugly whore like you will never get a decent boyfriend becau-"

"So what?! I don't want a fucking boyfriend!" I scream, she's startled by my sudden outburst. "And I'm damn sure I don't have to get into the principal's pants to feel better!"

"AGHHH!" she screams as she grabs my hair and pulls with force. Who the fuck even does that anymore? Girly fighting won't beat me. I grab her arm and twist so I'm facing her, my free hand unconciously punches her right in the nose. She cries out in pain whilst blood runs from her nose. She throws an attempted punch at my face and manages to just get my lip. It cuts, and I can taste the blood in my mouth, but it doesn't phase me. Just a small cut. I start to laugh while she throws more useless hits - which I dodge. She only stops when there's a knock on the door.

Downey's POV:

I make my way to the room and knock on the door three times. I already know who's damn laugh that is. It falls silent after I've knocked, no movement at all behind this door. "Open up! It's Mr Downey!"

The door flies open and Rebekah throws her arms around me, tears falling down her cheeks and blood pouring from her nose. "She hit me Sir! I didn't even provoke her and she just punched me!" she cries into my jacket. I push her off me, making her look me in the eye. I look past her and into the room to find Angel lay on her front on the bed with her chin resting on both hands. She looks bored as hell. "What happened here?!" I ask. Angel doesn't look at me, only at a pattern on the bed sheets.

"She just walked in and went all-"

"I wasn't asking you Miss Johnston," I say without turning to face her. Angel raises her head, revealing her bloody mouth. She looks just as much a mess as Rebekah. For God's Sake Angel. You don't make things easy for me do you.

"Both of you to my classroom. Now."

"But Sir, I didn't do anyth-"

"Rebekah, are you seriously telling me Miss Olison here, punched herself?"

"I was just defending myself," she tuts and rolls her eyes with a heavy sigh.

"Go on. Miss Johnston, make your way. I will speak with you shortly."

She nods her head, and I catch her shooting daggers at Angel with her cold eyes. When Rebekah has left, I sit on the end of Angel's bed and we just stare at each other for a couple of minutes. I don't even think I'm supposed to be in here, oh well. "Well? Aren't you gonna interrogate me or just sit there and gawp?"

"I'd like an explanation of what just happened," I say calmly.

"Well d-uh. Isn't it obvious. I hit her."

"I know that smart ass. Did she hit you first or not?"

"No."

"So you punched her? Unprovoked?"

"Guess you could say that."

"Right, okay... so now I want a proper explanation."

"She started making a fuss, so I said she had the mouth like a hippo..." she begins. I put my hand to my mouth to cover my laugh and cough a little. It's not even funny, but it's just true. I don't think she saw me snicker, it's all good. Keep your calm Downey. "She yanked at my hair, I punched her in the face, she punched me - well, attempted to, and then she was throwing punches, which I dodged, until you ever so thankfully knocked on the door." I see the fake smile on her lips. Really, Angel? The attitude? Ugh...

"Okay, so it's obvious I have to rearrange your dormitory arrangements. I can't believe you can't even finish your first day without causing problems..."

She holds both hands up defensively and raises her eyebrows. I just pinch the bridge of my nose and close my eyes. "You have such a good potential, why do you go and ruin it for yourself?"

"I don't. That's why, because there's nothing to ruin. Might as well have a laugh while I'm on the road to failure-"

"With an attitude like that you may as well become a cashier in the local supermarket for the rest of your life. You need to shut up with your bad attitude. I'm going to make sure you graduate and that's final." I massage her shoulder reassuringly and she blushes red, breaking the eye contact. At least I'm getting some sort of reaction out of her. She looks down at the bed and nods her head slowly, not saying a word. "If you need help with anything, that's what I hire these teachers for, and I'm always here too. So stop being such a pessimist and pull yourself together. You're not a little girl any more. You got that?" She nods again. I lift her chin with my index finger and force her to look at me, "you need another tour?" She shrugs as though it's an offer that's neither here nor there. Still holding up her chin, I stroke her cheek with the pad of my thumb before realising how damn wrong that is of me and letting my hand drop. I stand up and make my way to the door. "I'm gonna go sort Rebekah out. It's, lemme see..." I check my watch, "It's coming up to five p.m, I'll come back here around six and by then I'll have your dorm sorted and then we'll go for another tour. Daylight should last until we're done. Sound like a plan?" I raise an eyebrow and half smile.

"Yeah, sure. Now get out of my room you perv," she says with a devious grin.

"Oh really?! I saw you checking out my ass when I stood up, I don't think I'm the perv..." She jumps off the bed and runs over to the door, shoving me out and slamming the door in my face. How rude? I sigh and shake my head, but I can't help a small grin slip onto my face. This female specimen, she's certainly something.

Now to go deal with a girl the other side of the spectrum...
