"Ugh, uugh, ooooof..." The sounds swirling around in my head coming in waves with different pitches, "uuughgh, uuuuuuuggh..." I shake my head wildly, trying to get the ugly sounds out of my swirling head, but once I tried to shake my head it was contoured by a throbbing wave of pain.

"Uuuuuh." I moan out, trying desperately for the pain to go away. I quickly hear the sounds subside and instead hear footsteps coming towards me. Then I get a quick wave of memory of what just, or some time ago, happened.

I see a flash of the man lurking in the shadows and a sharp and painful grasp on my arm and I remember feeling fear come over me when I feel him come closer and closer. Still hearing the footsteps coming towards me I try to jerk away, or perhaps try to roll away, but what I hear stops me, "Dev, it's okay, your safe now." Once I hear the soothing voice of Cole I lean into him once he lays his hand on my shoulder. "What.... what about..." I try to start but he quickly and slowly shushes me before I could say anything else, "I took care of him, he won't come back or hurt you, I promise." While I hear him finish the sentence I relax a little more and melt myself into him. Feeling his arms around me and the rough material of his jeans against my head, I find myself trusting him with my heart and believe that I won't ever see that man again- at least for now. "I'm so sorry I didn't hear you, I won't leave you ever again." Noticing the emotion in his voice, I move a little more into him while he pulls me against his chest and cradles me.

"Come on Dev, we have to go back to your apartment, I can't leave you alone out here. Who knows what else will happen to you." I think of the man with the raspy voice and the memory sends a shiver through my spine, I would not want Cole to leave me alone out here I've had enough from what just happened to last a whole lifetime, I nod and open my eyes. The night sky that I saw before when I was out the door of the club was only a thin black shade with 2 or 3 stars in the sky, but know when I open my eyes for the first time since I could imagine and I see stars. But not just plain and simple stars, I see bright shining stars that if I told them a wish everything would come true.
I've never been that person who believes that in order for a wish to come true you have to say your wish and toss a penny into a fountain with other pennies surrounded by other wish-filled pennies. But for some reason as I look into the night sky and see all the vulnerable stars shining bright against the black darkness, I feel a huge desire deep down in my stomach that I know won't go away easily, and I wish; I wish......
I let Cole pull me up to my feet and lead me to his car; a big, navy blue GMC truck with those built in monster wheels than you have to have a mechanic put in. I've always loved how wild Cole's personality is, he doesn't even care how people think of him, he only wants to have fun and be himself.
When we walk a block over, we finally reach his car. Cole walks us toward the passenger seat door and opens it. As he does I lean against the car and slowly climb myself up into the seat, before I fully made myself into the car and onto the seat, I feel strong arms wrap around me and lift me onto the seat. Even though I knew it was Cole because he was the only person around and near me, I turn my body to the side trying to grab the seat belt and sneak a quick peek of him. He catches my eye and smiles with only his lips and carefully closing the door, making sure he didn't accidentally squish my feet off.

He jogs around the front of the car, making it seem like he wants to actually keep an eye on me at all times through the window, and he opened his door and hopped in. Cole quickly reached behind him and brought forward his seat belt before buckling it in. He quickly grabs his keys from his back pocket of his jeans and plugged it into the ignition. While he pulls the car onto the road, I take my time studying him. He has short brown sable hair which comes up to the front, face full of sharp angles, his face squeezed together a bit from the focus he's putting toward driving. I just love how he puts his concentration ability into random things.

"What are you looking at?" I hear all of a sudden, breaking me away from my thoughts. I blink and right when I open my eyes, his russet colored eyes meet mine. Then I feel a pang again, I blink trying to pull away once more and finally concentrate on my voice, "Oh, nothing. I was just thinking and you happened to be near my gaze." He smiles again, but this time with his teeth, and turns his head towards the road, making his eyes reflect light from the street lamps on the sidewalk. His eyes are brown but even though the lights from the street don't go together with his eyes, somehow I find the sight of his eyes beautiful.

He clears his throat and I realize I'm staring again, I pull my gaze away from him and turn toward the window, trying to distract myself from him. "I can see you looking at me, don't try to hide it. I know I'm beautiful-" I make an ugly sound that can only be classified as a chuckle and he breaks his eyes from the road and holds his hand to his heart. "OW, it hurts! It feels like I've been shot! Help! Help! This girl is trying to kill me!" Even though I try to hold in the laugh that Cole's making rise up, it breaks away. I laugh and laugh, "Yeah right, I wouldn't try to kill you! Even though your handsome doesn't mean I have to admit it or agree to it!"

Right when the words escape through my lips, I realize what I just said, making me blush beet red. He notices and smiles even more, "So you do think I'm handsome! I knew it! You do think I'm attractive!" Before I could say anything he turns his gaze back on the road with a wicked smile on his face, showing that this conversation is over. I turn my face back towards the window and give out a huge sigh. Admitting defeat I push the tune/song button and a song pops up, filling the truck with fast-beat music.
