Although I am quite used to talking to other students, I will have to admit that I am what you would call as socially awkward. When it came to professional matters, I am fine with talking or starting a conversation. When it came to making friends though, my skills in that subject is equivalent to a rock.

I would like to apologize for assuming that you are an introverted person for this story, especially if you actually are quite extroverted. But, please deal with it since I can't really pinpoint each and every single personality you may have. And if possibly multiple people are reading this, I can't abide in making this character a replica of you. If you're looking for one that is, it would be fine if you remove this from your library right now. Like I said, this is just another book found within the thousands of millions of stories in the world.

Now that that's out of the way, let's shall continue.

"Nice weather we are having, am I right?" Like what I had said, I am terrible at making small talk. In fact, the weather is terrible. It's humid and hot.

Glancing to my right, Hyakkimaru replies with a short nod in agreement, ending our conversation short. I let out a sigh at my feeble attempt to make him open up. I knew it was going to be difficult to begin with. He did just receive his voice and it was not until the recent episodes where he started talking.

Just why Dororo had to leave me alone with another person terrible at communicating...

Minutes passed and I have finally given up in making multiple failed attempts to start a conversation with the raven-haired male. I breathed out a sigh as I patiently waited for the boyish-looking girl to come back, leaning my back on the trunk of the tree giving us cool shade under the scorching sun.

"Dororo..." For the first time in my stay here, I heard Hyakkimaru using his voice. It was rather hoarse, probably because of the lack of use. I noticed how he was pointing towards a certain direction with his prosthetic hand.

At the direction he was pointing, I saw Dororo coming towards us. I sent her a friendly smile and wave. By the time the child had reached both Hyakkimaru and I, she was already panting.

"You didn't have to run." I commented, letting out a small snicker at her excited form. "Did they pay you a lot?"

"Yup! The plan worked perfectly!" Dororo cheered, hopping up and down to show how delighted she was. I found it amusing that she had instantly revived her energy when she was just breathing heavily not a minute ago. "And, Onee-san,"

I raised an eyebrow in question at her after hearing my name called out. As I saw Dororo holding a piece of cloth in front of her, my face twisted into confusion. I had zero clues on what she could be implying. Or, perhaps I'm just slow witted.

"What's that for?" I questioned straightforwardly, not the type to beat around the bush.

If you haven't heard of the term beat around the bush before, it roughly means bombarding another person with some small talk or fairly relevant questions about a certain matter before going straight to the point. In simpler terms, it means wasting your breath.

"Clothes to change on." Dororo handed the piece of clothing excitedly towards me, practically shoving it in my arms. "I just found out why the village mistook you for a monster. It's your clothing, Onee-san." She explained, pointing a finger at my clothes. "What are you even wearing? I don't think I have even seen those clothes before. I have to say that it looks quite atrocious."

I can see the confusion on Dororo's face as her eyebrows visibly scrunched up together. Not knowing what exactly to reply, I did what I do best at social interactions –laugh awkwardly.
