There would be times when a great news for one person would be devastating for another. In my opinion, that's quite an irrefutable fact. I could name a few situations to prove my statement actually. For example, there might be news going around your school regarding a certain pair now officially going out. It would be a great hearsay for those supporting them and the couple themselves. On the other hand, jealous bitches wouldn't find the announcement satisfying. You know, the cliché stuff.

To be completely frank, I would rather not give another example since I would prefer going on with my two hour procrastination. Don't mind that, that was just the author speaking.

Back to the story, let me give you another exemplar since I suppose some of you couldn't be satisfied with one mere example. In this example, picture your best friend. If you happen to be like an introverted brat like me, I believe you at least have one person you could call a friend... I guess. Hypothetically, if the both of you are graduating from high school, and it happens that your partner in crime has been accepted in a prestigious school overseas, of course it would be such wonderful news for them. For you, on the other hand, could you really feel the same – with your close companion being separated miles away from you? On second thought this situation could be applied to family member's as well.

As cliché as my examples are, those are the only ones I can imagine that would be quite relatable. Well, it isn't called cliché for a reason – it's quite a stereotype after all.

Humming quietly to myself as I drew random objects on the soil with a piece of twig, I waited patiently with Hyakkimaru for Dororo to return from her short trip to the nearby village in effort to ask a few questions here in there. I assume to learn where a nearby demon is situated.

It has been a couple of minutes of Dororo's absence. And, of course, I made an attempt to start a conversation with the raven-haired teen. But, like what I had predicted, I was brushed off with his short replies and curt nods. I gave up, which brings us to our current situation – the both of us minding our own businesses. It was a bit ambitious of me to assume that I finally made a small break through his walls. It was honestly disappointing.

Just as I had gotten to drawing my eighth stick figure, which I had bestowed the name of Bob, Dororo's familiar loud voice rang into my ears. This had caught both of Hyakkimaru's and my attention.

"You took your sweet time interrogating around." I commented before getting up from my position, leaving Bob's face missing an eye. As I neared the black-haired child, I used the stick I was using to draw artistic masterpieces to poke her rotund cheek. "You better have some good news for us."

"Of course, I do." She claimed, swatting the thin branch away from nudging her skin before puffing her cheeks at me as she didn't seem to appreciate my little gesture of affection. "I have two great information for you guys."

With a proud toothy grin, she continued. "First, I heard that they were giving out free rice cakes on the village. The downside though is that they will only get to serve the first two-hundred people."

I believe some of you would think that this is what the introduction for this current chapter refers to. It's not however. Come on, of course none of us would think it wouldn't be great to get some free food when we're starving here. And just a reminder, our pockets are now dry and we've already ran out of mangoes a few days ago. I would call you 'master' if your stomach's still not growling by that point.

"How about the second news then?" I questioned, urging Dororo to continue.

"Oh," The grin on her face broadened as the second news seemed to be better than the first one. "I'm sure Aniki would be really pleased to hear this." Before she could even finish her claim, Dororo started laughing in triumph. "A farmer in the village told me that there has been a case of disappearing farm animals for the past week here. They suspected that it was a demon. Such great news, isn't it?"
