It was hard to get grasp of exactly how many days I was stuck in this realm. In fact, I have no clue whether today is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. All I know is that I'm still alive and that's all that matters. Barely alive, I mean.
For the span of time I spent with Dororo and Hyakkimaru, so far we haven't encountered any demons yet. I was thankful for that, since I knew I would be monster bait if we ever encounter one. Well, let's not think about that too much as we're not yet faced with a dire, life-threatening situation.
What truly matters is that I've been here who knows how long that even probably the author doesn't know, and I still haven't taken a bath. Of course, I would care for such for I am not too pleased with the term unhygienic and anything that the word describes. How about you try not taking a bath for days even after sweating tons and sleeping on unclean areas? If you don't reek by that time, I'll feed you to a monster in my stead.
"Dororo, I need a bath." I demanded straightforwardly as I sluggishly followed behind her, my eyebrows twitching from annoyance as I itched to take a bath. "Hey, Dororo."
Bothered by my constant whining, the raven-haired girl turned her head to face me. "I know. I know. Just stop whining my name already." She snapped. I don't blame her, I know too well the feeling of endlessly hearing my name from others demands. I suppose in this world, it's my turn to be an adamant, demanding beach.
"Just wait a little bit longer. We'll bathe in the river." Dororo explained. It seemed that she was the older one in this situation due to her experience.
I prefer a bathtub but that works.
Our journey to the said body of water continued in silence, our soft footsteps the only noise we could hear and produce. The thought of breaking the silence by relentlessly questioning Dororo "Are we there yet?" came into mind, but it would blatantly bug the poor child.
So I did it anyways.
"Are we there yet?" I questioned, watching how Dororo's face scrunch up from annoyance in amusement.
"No." In the most indolent voice she could muster, she answered, visibly fed up by my unpleasing personality.
"Are we there yet?" Not even a minute after, I inquired her once more. I had decided to poke some fun from her reactions to satisfy my boredom. Call me a sadist for doing so but I know you have at least once found it entertaining to poke fun on children.
"No." She said through gritted teeth, her patience perceptibly being pushed to the limit. It appears that it won't take long before she blows her top off, an expression which means finally losing her patience.
"Are we there yet?" Yet again, I unrelentingly continued to pester the child.
"No."
Let's just say that it took me nineteen times of her face switching to more annoyed one by each repetitive question before we had finally reached our destination. That was since I had run out of words to use in order to describe my reaction and Dororo's. I wouldn't want to bore you by reading the same description over and over again.
With the sight of clean waters greeting us, surrounded by green plants, I could describe the river with one word – aesthetic. Not only was this just a river but a mini cascading waterfall was also visible. The calming sound of the flowing water was admittedly exquisite for the ear.
"Alright, Dororo, let's go." In one swift motion, I grabbed the said child's arm before pushing her to the water with a jubilant laugh escaping my lips.
