I suppose it is proven fact that having to experience a certain event or activity multiple times would null the feeling it was supposedly producing – to put it in simpler terms, you would end up getting used to it. One of the most effective examples I could use to prove the prior sentence would have to be the experience of horror movies.
If happen to be easily startled by jump scares, then welcome to the club. Anyways, going back to where we had left off, jump scares and tension is an element that a thriller or horror movie must have. If it does not have those two highly relevant essentials, then it's just some crappy movie.
In any case, having watched a certain horror film for the first time, you would find yourself screaming or jumping throughout the whole film – if not, then you're either a robot or the movie was just horrendously terrible. Let's say that you have re-watched that particular movie multiple times – perhaps in about four to seven times. Already expecting those certain tensions and jump scares the story hold, you wouldn't feel as surprised, the jump scares being rendered ineffective.
You could say the same in a lot of real life situations, but that is just my mere opinion of course – it is something you don't need to pay much heed to. If I were to state an example out of personal experience, I should say that being part of the school's student council would be one.
Having elected to be as the student council secretary unfortunately, I had to learn how to interact to the huge number of students in our institution since majority of the activities at school are facilitated by the student council. In other words, I was forced to become an emcee in a number of events with my co-officers and I had no choice but to suck it up.
Whatever the case may be, let us proceed to getting into why I chose to start off with this certain preface in this certain chapter. The reason for that is as to our next example.
Whether or not you were born into a distinguished family, having transported to this certain anime and era could leave you crying and begging to go back home. Well, it's not like I had done any of the sort, but somewhere along those lines. However, I was of course left no choice but to suck it up and find a way to not die at the very least, barely.
Being stuck in this world for months now, I had been slowly learning to keep myself alive and, my main objective, not die. Let us all face it, nobody would enjoy being stuck in this kind of hardship – that includes whoever is reading this that is wishing to suddenly get sucked into a portal to the Dororo anime world.
Regardless, after an estimated six or seven months I had learned how to cope up with the type of lifestyle I had to put up with in this world. And yes, after six months or so, I still have zero idea what that couplet could possibly mean no matter how much I jog this empty skull of mine.
Like I had mentioned redundantly throughout three paragraphs, I had been taught to get used to the difficult living in this era. That included the harsh, scorching weather; I wonder if global warming was already this bad at this age. No wonder to the recent crisis in Amazon, which is honestly quite a shame. Nevertheless, I was now able to endure the burning heat.
Which is why I am currently complaining.
I wrapped my arms around my upper body, shivering as my effort to warm myself up to satisfaction was rendered nothing but futile. Damn you, climate change. Now I understand the consequential significance of whatever nonsense was being spewed out of my environmentalist of a best friend's mouth. It hurts more to actually not contradict his words for once, especially with what's been happening recently.
"Goddamit, Dororo. Just how are you able to stand this cold weather in such thin clothes?!" I practically screamed in frustration as I rubbed my skin in attempt to gain at least a miniscule amount of warmth. The cold air was kissing my exposed skin, as if mocking me as I could definitely hear cruel fate laughing and pointing at me with the words "Ha! Think again, motherfucker!"
