I have never come across the experience of a part time job before – which probably explains why my wallet is empty for most days. It's either that or my shit-faced brother had been stealing money from my wallet again – which explains why I tend to badmouth the little shit.

Who knew receiving money you had worked hard for to earn – excluding begging – could bring such a delighted, fulfilling feeling swell up one's chest? I certainly didn't until now. After all, my only duty in our house is to coop myself up inside the room and watch youtube videos and probably wash the dishes... when and only when Dad catches me lazing around while shooting knives through his domineering glare. Mom, on the other hand, would have to lose her voice first before I move my lazy bum.

"Here." Tossing the bag of coins towards my direction, Mizukai's amber pools gazed as how I had barely caught it, arms and shoulders dropping down as I had underestimated the weight of the coins. Hory Shit! Perhaps my three day suffering with a certain obnoxious jerk is worth it after all. "Thanks for the hardwork, (Y/N). You were such a great help." The young boy flashed me an admittedly adorable grin, his charming features and pale face adding an innocent look. Huh. I suppose it was true that it was true to never judge a book by its cover.

"Oh no, the pleasure is mine." I muttered, awed as I took one peek at the coins sealed inside the pouch. Upon raising my head up, I returned Mizukai's grin with my own, aware it could never match his and aware of his attempt kill me some time ago. Buttt, as much as that was such an assful thing to do, he knows how to a pay generous amount of cash. And so, I'll let it slide. "Sorry for the trouble though." I muttered sheepishly stealing a glance from Hyakkimaru who stood beside me, Mizukai smiling idly in reply.

Hearing the raven-haired male let out a low scoff, I was mildly taken aback as I felt slender, prosthetic digits grabbing the back of my collar before dragging me. "Let's go already." Hyakkimaru mutters, his body language spelling how he was on the edge currently. Odd.

Feeling my body pulled back roughly enough for me to lose my balance and fall on my bottom, I can't help but wince, a small cry of pain slipping out of my lips involuntarily.

"Don't be so rough with Onee-san, Aniki. She's not as durable as you think, you know." Dororo, mentioned, eyeing my form as I struggled fairly to get back on feet, feeling the literal pain in my ass. A mix of concern and amusement was swimming in her coffee pools before I was able to steady myself up, dusting away the subtle dirt on my worn-out clothing. "But Onee-san's pretty much partly to blame with how clumsy she tends to be."

At the end of her comment, a deep scowl was visible from my lips while a goofy grin was etched widely at Dororo's soft lips. Adorable, yet annoying. As cute as she is, I sometimes get the urge to throw sand at her face and hope some to enter her eyes. A bit harsh, but believe me when I say it's completely normal when you've experienced spending a whole day with obnoxious children.

Speaking of children, the other child of our trio seemed to be acting rather peculiar since he had suddenly barged in during the process of my so-called work. Half of me felt a boost in my ego for having quite an enigmatic male such as Hyakkimaru to show at least a teeny-weeny bit of concern towards me, while the other half, to explain in three words, says 'what the fuck'.

A couple of steps through the continuation of our journey, taking into account how the raven-haired male was a fairly good distance ahead me and Dororo, I slowly inched myself closer towards the boyish girl. As I subtly leaned down, Dororo spares me a questioning stare, cocking an eyebrow.

Upon gesturing for her to relatively slow down our steps, I motioned her to lean in, cupping a hand by her ear as I proceeded to whisper. "Hey, Dororo. Don't you think Hyakkimaru is acting quite strange lately?" Letting both of my hands grab my knees, position still kept bent down, I stole a glance towards Hyakkimaru's lean back profile. "I just can't help but notice it."
