Chapter 7 - I love you more than donuts, idiot.

Waking up on the couch downstairs, the next morning, was the most surreal thing that Amy had ever experienced. She still had no clue how she had managed to say no to Karma? Who had carefully tried to seduce her all night long.

She would never understand the amount of self control she had in that moment.

Thinking of the events of last night made the blonde groan. She never wanted to open her eyes. She couldn't face the day. Not after she had rejected her best friend.

Sitting up from her make shift bed, Amy combed her hair with her fingers as she slowly began to wake up.

The Ashcroft household was completely void of noise, which was very strange. Normally Karma would be up nice and early, making pancakes in the kitchen. Amy remembered the countless times she had headed down the stairs to find Karma waiting for her with a morning coffee, and a plate pilled with pancakes and a side of bacon.

Jeez, even before all this faking it nonsense they had acted like a couple.

No wonder Molly and Lucas hadn't been surprised when Karma had told them about the fake relationship.

Everyone around them just assumed that they would end up together. It was natural, they were two people, who like in the many books Karma had read, had grown up together. If their lives had been a film they would end up getting together right at the end.

Sadly they were all wrong. Their life wasn't a film, there would be no happy ending for Amy and Karma, at least not together.

Sighing, Amy stood from the couch and went straight for the kitchen. If the house was silent, it meant that Karma obvious felt embarrassed, and perhaps even upset. The least Amy could do was to make her breakfast in bed, and hopefully try and mend what they already had.

If they couldn't be together in a romantic sense, then Amy would take the second best thing.

Friendship.

                                                                                     ....

Bravely, Amy carried a tray of pancakes into Karma's bedroom, which was filled with sunlight. The blonde had to catch her breath as she spotted the red head laying on her side of the bed, all snuggled up in her blankets.

She could never understand how Karma managed to look like a Disney princess every morning. Even without make up she looked amazing. Placing the tray at the foot of the bed, Amy gently pushed a few strands of hair out of her face, and gazed down at her.

Fuck, she was beautiful.

Karma's lips were parted ever so slightly, and her hair was fanned out on the pillow she was resting on.
