a tiny little gesture,
a small compassionate deed
makes such tremendous difference
for beings in love's need
yet still we choose to hold back
judgmental and irate
worse even still, plain careless
to act for others' sake
compassion is so beautiful
how can this not be felt?
instead we practice ignorance
so i don’t understand
why choose to do it only
because it is in fashion?
to love and care for others
can simply be a passion
my favorite of the values
the one the world needs most
kindness is the only method
to rouse our sleeping souls
so often assumed a weakness
involves more than just heart
the top form of intelligence
a sign of someone smart
men, stop your macho gimmicks
your dominant game gets old
women, just be like sisters
competing makes us cold
let's break the rotten habits
so callous and behind
why must there reminders
of our nature to be kind?
dwelling on faults and errors
would not make love so blind
instead let’s do what’s wholesome
most simply, just be kind
