"Hey! Ginny!" Harry called as he saw the red head exiting potions before lunch.

"Yes, Harry?" She asked, smiling at him sweetly.

"Could I talk to you? Alone?" He asked hesitantly.

"Uh, sure."

They ended up stopping in front of the entrance to the Gryffindor common room.

Harry was incredibly nervous, his hands shaking vigorously.

"Hey, you okay?" Ginny asked, grabbing his hands in hers.

"Uh, y- yeah." He stuttered. God, why is he so weak lately? It's probably because of Malfoy. Everything's always because of Malfoy.

This could either go two ways; good or bad.

"Listen, Gin.." he trailed off. A tear slipped from his eyes. Ginny, seeming to know what was coming next, also allowed a tear of her own to trail down her face.

"Just do it, Harry." She choked out. Harry looked at her in sorry eyes, and opened his mouth to say something but he couldn't find any words to come out.

"Baby, I don't think you even know it but you're leaving me in pieces. This isn't healthy, Harry. Just do it. Please." She pleaded, tears consistently streaming down her face now.

"Gin.." he started. "I don't even know what to say. I have loved you for so long, and I still do, but I'm too far distant now. Since the war, I haven't been the Harry that you fell in love with a few years back. Since the war, I haven't been able to give you the happiness that you deserve, and I can't even look at you without feeling guilty for it." He was sobbing.

"I understand Harry. I understand." She said softly between sobs, intertwining their fingers for one of the final times.

"And I think it's for the best of both of us.." Harry paused, dreading his next statement, "if we break it off." He stated sadly. Ginny nodded, and embraced Harry while tears fell down both of their faces.

"I'm so sorry Gin." He said between tears.

"Me too Harry. Me too." She said, finally letting go of him.

"Friends?" He asked hopefully.

"Of course." She smiled sadly at him, before walking away toward the great hall to eat lunch.

Harry sunk down on the wall, hiding his face in his hands and choking on his own sobs. He stayed there for a few more minutes, before silently heading towards the boys restroom and splashing water on his face to calm his puffy eyes and red splotchy skin.

"Hey mate, you okay?" Ron asked during supper. Harry hadn't spoken since he broke things off with Ginny, and his friends were beginning to become concerned.

"Yeah, 'M fine. Just torn from breaking things off, y'know?" Harry stated.

"Oh, you broke up with her?" Hermione asked curiously.

"Yeah. Forgot to tell you." Harry smiled sheepishly.

"How are you feeling? Y'know, being single and all." Ron asked.

"Relieved honestly. Being single is underrated." Harry laughed nervously.

"How was Ginny? About the whole break up thing." Hermione questioned thoughtfully.

"She was fine. We are still friends. I think we are both relieved to be single at this point honestly." Harry shrugged.

Ron and Hermione glanced at each other pitifully. Harry frowned. Did they know something he didn't?

"Is there something I don't know..?" Harry inquired.

"What? No!" Ron spoke in a panic. The raven haired boy shot him a suspicious glance, but brushed it off regardless.

Meanwhile, Ginny was busy snogging Dean in the Gryffindor common room. It had become a nightly routine for them since about the first week back at Hogwarts.

"Finally I can do this without feeling guilty every time." Ginny spoke between kisses.

"It's cause that filthy Potter is out of the way." Dean spoke, pushing Ginny down onto the couch and hovering over her.

"Hey, he wasn't filthy." Ginny frowned, but allowed Dean to continue regardless.

That night, Draco and Harry sat in an awkward tension after the previous nights events. Neither of them were able to fall asleep, and shuffling around trying to get comfortable was getting old.

Eventually, the silence begun to drive Malfoy crazy, so he decided to say something. "I heard that you and the she weasel broke up earlier."

"Oh. Yeah." Harry spoke awkwardly.

"Sucks that she was cheating on you with Dean Thomas of all people." Draco snorted.

"What?" Harry turned to face him.

"Fuck. You mean you didn't know?" Malfoy spoke, gritting his teeth in regret.

"Uh, no. Where'd you hear that from? Surely Ginny would've admitted if she was cheating on me." Harry laughed.

Malfoy shifted anxiously. "I overheard Granger and The Weasel talking about it in the common room the other day." He shrugged. Harry's expression shifted from casual to hurt within a matter of seconds.

"Shit, sorry. I just assumed you would've known.." Malfoy trailed off.

"And how do I know you're not just making this up?" Potter sneered.

Great, this again. Draco rolled his eyes.

"You have literally been ignoring her since war ended. You really think she's gonna remain loyal?" Malfoy laughed.

Harry opened his mouth to reply, but closed it when he couldn't find the words to do so. Instead, he just rolled so that his back was facing Draco, and allowed a single tear to roll down his cheek. As much as he hates to admit it, the ferret is right. How could he be so dumb?

Malfoy had a look of regret on his face, and he immediately felt bad for calling Harry out like that. He let out a low sigh, and rolled back so that he was facing the door and tried to fall asleep.
