He allowed himself to be submerged in the heady feeling he was in. His little escape from reality, from everything. When he's in this state it's like he has not a single atomic care in the world.

It's been a week since Areef had gone for proposal to the Ahmad's, and he has been so stressed lately. Well someone or some people have been stressing him and they seem to have one thing in common.

'They are all ladies! '

First there was his over excited sister, Deedee, who has been bugging him all week long about Airah. It's always Airah this, Airah that, Airah here, Airah there. She seems to be more excited about their wedding than she was about hers.

Second is someone he doesn't even like to think about even an ounce, Amrah. She has made it her hobby again to come to his office every single day. She keeps trying to bring back old memories which she's obviously not succeeding at but she doesn't seem to back down.

And third, Airah. It was only a matter of small time before everyone at the office found out about them. And Airah being the kind person she is, she's letting people who didn't even acknowledge her try to get her to do them a favor by asking Areef or telling him they have excuses to come late to work.

His day was going so bad he had to drive down to his little escape. He was drifting off to a very heavy sleep when he felt vibration from underneath him.

'Why didn't I put it on do not disturb' He hissed. He rolled over and Mamy's name flashed on the screen.

He cleared his eyes and still the name was there. There was no way he could answer her phone in this state. He was high and she would catch onto something.

So he silenced the phone and managed to carry himself to the bathroom. He got under the shower and let the cool water cascade down on his body. He stayed long enough until he was sure he'll be able to stand on his own.

He exited the bathroom got dressed and left. He called Mamy as he was driving home.

"Assalamu alaikum mamy? "

"Wa alaikas Salam my son. "

She sounded so cheary. Which made him a little relaxed.

"Sorry I missed your call Mamy, I was in a meeting. "

"Are you sure now? " She asked which made Areef tensed again.

"Areef, you don't have to lie to me when you and Airah are out. I was at your office for sometime now and I can't find either of you, and Airah's car is at the office, so you must be together right? " she deduced.

Areef was still speechless.
One because he didn't like unexpected visits At all.
Second because he was wondering why Airah wasn't at the office but her car was there. Where could she have gone?

"Areef are you there? " He heard Mamy asking.

"Yes Mamy, I'm here. Well I'll....we'll be back shortly. I'm sorry you missed us"

"No, no, don't you worry. I'm happy you are getting more acquainted with each other. It's good since you'll soon be living together. I actually came to tell you the good news, Airah's parents had given us a date."

Areef froze, A date? The wedding date. He suddenly felt light headed.

He found his voice and replied Mamy.

"Are you for real Mamy, That's the best news I've received in a long time. You owe me a big gift Mamy."

"Silly boy, you have already given me the big gift my son, getting married when I'm still here and giving me a shot to see your kids. "
