Chapter 10

Charlie's pov

"Oh god Charlie I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to tell him. I didn't realize he would be so upset. I'll just leave. I've caused enough trouble and now your wedding is off and it's all my fault and-"

"Payton! Relax. It's not your fault. I was the one that kept it from him and I should of never asked anyone to keep it a secret. Harry and I have some thing's to workout. It's better we do that now than after we're married"

She nodded and looked down at her lap. Aidan was asleep in the backseat and traffic was heavy as usual. She noticed my stained cheeks and red eyes as soon she got in the car. Once I told her she would be staying with Ed. She lost it. She was convinced It was all her fault and that we were slowly moving her out to replace her. After much convincing the conversation turned to her sobbing more than I was and apologizing every few minutes.

"Okay, we're here"

I parked and carefully got Aidan out without waking him. Payton led the way to the apartment and it was fairly quiet when we entered. The TV was going and Harry was standing by the window. He glanced up as we walked through the room, but I didn't stop to speak to him.

I laid Aidan in our bed and Payton went to pack her things. I needed to think of something else besides our fight. There were so many things I wanted to say, but most of them were out of anger and wouldn't solve anything. I pulled Aidan's shoes and jeans off. He whined, but didn't wake up.

The door creaked and Harry stood watching us. I folded Aidan's pants and set them on the dresser.

"Can we talk?"

"I think it's too soon"

"Why? He's asleep and-"

"Because I still want to fucking choke you" I whispered.

He frowned and I moved past him into the hallway. He followed me to the kitchen and I pulled open the fridge grabbing a package of ham to make a sandwich.

"Are we broken up?"

"Is that a serious question?" I continued, grabbing bread and other necessities to make my sandwich. Not glancing up once to acknowledge him.

"I'm sorry"

"You should be"

"Most people say it's okay or you're forgiven"

"Most people don't call their fiancé a bitch"

"Look I'm sorry for that. You know I didn't mean it. I think I was still a little drunk"

"Are you sober now?"

"Definitely" he moved to my side of the counter watching me.

"Good"

"Wh-"

I turned slapping him as hard as I could.

"If you ever talk to me like that again I will leave you for good. We will not work on things. I won't stay just to protect Aidan. I will be protecting him by removing him from a home where his parents do nothing but fight and insult each other. You were awful to me earlier. I know you're upset about your dad. We are suppose to work through things like this together. You can't turn on me like that"

He pulled his fingers through the front of his hair.

"Are we still broken up"

"Very"

I turned back to the counter to make my sandwich.

"Baby I didn't mean the shit I said earlier. I don't want our wedding to be off. I was just mad"
