Monse's POV

I finally finish this update for Jason and I'm relieved to say the least. He's really been on my ass this last few days about my deadlines. Crap it's almost 6! Ruby's gonna be mad.

I get ready just throwing on some sweats and a shirt. I hope Jasmine does not drag me for this but it's her or Ruby. Can't win with both at this point.

I lock up and head to Ruby's. Wow this is going to be the first time we've all been together since I've left. I missed this. I'm so happy to see them all. Oh boy Cesar will be there. Where do I even start with him?

I was so lost in my thoughts I didn't even realise I reached Ruby's.

I raise my hand to knock on the door but it flies open and Jasmine greets me "Hey girl, it's been too long. We have lots of catching up to do. I missed you so much I'll forgive that outfit. Ruby hunny, Monse is here!" she pulls me into the living room.

Immediately they start grilling me "How was New York, how was the trip, what's your dating life like?"

Before I can even respond the doorbell rings. Saved by the bell. Jamal walks in looking frustrated "why are women so confusing?!"

"Bitches be bonkers," Abuelita chimes in from the kitchen. I didn't even realise she was here.

"Who's bonkers?" Cesar asks walking in

"Don't worry about it," Jasmine replies. We all know it will just set Jamal off again so we drop it.

"Monse, you're wearing my shirt" Cesar muses. I look down, crap he's right. I haven't finished unpacking so I grabbed something from my old stuff.

Flashback:

*Junior Year*

I spent the night at Cesar's and was rushing to get ready for school. You'd think after two years of doing this I would've had this down pat.

"Babe could you pass my blue training shirt?" I hear Cesar as he walks back from the bathroom.

"Uh I don't see it," I try to feign ignorance.

"Well that's because you're wearing it," he comes up behind me and kisses my neck. We won't get to school on time if he continues like this.

"Hey, you're stuff are just so comfortable," I pout

"Fine, I'll carry something else for soccer practice but that's only because you look better in it," he replied.

Ever since then that shirt became a part of my wardrobe. I left it in Freeridge when I went to college but could never bring myself to return it or throw it away.

Ruby realises I'm zoned out and suggests we play a who, what, where, when to start getting caught up. I guess mostly for my sake.

"I'll start," he volunteers, "who? Y'all know my girl of three almost four years Jasmine."

"Hola Jasmigas!" She waves

"What? Where? After Ruby's Fancy Festivities' success at Berkeley I've decided to take it back to Freeridge and maybe Brentwood to create the best events this side of LA. When? Sometime this month. We're working on a few things," Ruby continues

"We?" I'm confused

"Yea, Rubes and I are going into business together! It's going to be Jas and Ruby's Fancy Festivities! I will of course still have my dance classes but this team will be unstoppable," Jas explains
