I carried the tool box in my arms,my backpack sat on my back.

I entered the doorway setting the box down.

"I got them" I call out.

A sweaty-saw-dust covered asher climbed down the ladder to the second level.

His white vest sticking to his chest, i tried not to stare

Key word tried

"Eyes up here shortcake"

My whole face was probably beet red as i stared down at my worn shoes kicking the wood making the shoes even more worse

I quickly recover slinging the yellow 'kanken' of my shoulders and retrieving the small brown ukulele from inside it

"How many instruments do you play?"

Asher asked while leaning against the wall gulping down a cold water bottle from the cooler

"Six"

I reply making my way over to the table and chairs pulling one out and taking a seat on it.

"Impressive"
He nods approvingly taking a seat opposite me

"Im glad to know i have you approval"
I joke.

He laughs,

It almost felt contagious as the happiness he was radiating made me smile

"Play me something"

His tone changed as he stops laughing.

He was staring at me intensely, relaxed back in his seat a cool tone lacing his voice.

"O-okay im a little rusty on this song, it was my brothers favorite"

I say cracking a weak smile at the thought of caleb

I adjust the ukulele in my hands and begin to strum

"Well you done done me and you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill but you're so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks
And now I'm trying to get back"

A smile rest upon ashers face as he watched me ease into the music, my fingers strumming the strings creating the upbeat tune

"Before the cool done run out
I'll be giving it my best-est
And nothing's going to stop me but divine intervention
I reckon it's again my turn
To win some or learn some"

The words roll of my tongue memories coursing through my brain of the happy moments based around this song

"But I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait"

A tear stays from my eye but my cheeks still high from the smile on my face

I take my eyes away from the instrument looking at asher who watched me ever so intently

Before his mouth opened and he did what I hadn't expected from him,

He sung.

The last line,

our voices working in a beautiful melody

"I'm yours"
