After Norma left the police station, she went to the store. She wasn't worried too much about her boys. She had a babysitter watching over her beautiful sons.
-
As Norma walked down the aisles of the store, she grabbed many things that would last them a long time. At least two weeks of food. Once Norma was happy with her choices, she checked her items out and left. Then driving to her beautiful, vintage home.
As she drove through the small town, she passed the police station and saw the pig. Keith Summers, walking out of the station angrily. Norma laughed to herself, knowing that the sheriff made him mad. There's no other way that it wasn't the sheriffs fault.
-
"Boys! Time for dinner." Norma called, as she looked at the clock.
It was eight p.m. and usually they had dinner earlier but Norma took longer than usual.
Norma grew impatient as neither of her boys had shown up to the kitchen yet.
"Dylan! Norman! Dinner time!" Norma yelled.
There was silence in response. This made Norma uneasy, making her run upstairs and to Dylan's room, which was empty. She then ran to Norman's room which was empty as well.
"Dylan!" Norma yelled, nervously as she checked the rest of the rooms upstairs. "Norman! Come on. Don't mess with me like this." Norma cried as she ran downstairs.
She then checked the basement, living room, and the kitchen. All were empty rooms. Norma felt her adrenaline rushing. She felt faint and sick to her stomach. She then ran to the front doors of her house and ran outside, only to find her boys running up and down the stairs.
Norma put her hand over her heart and closed her eyes. Breathing in and out deeply. She was relieved.
"Mom! Come play with us!" Dylan yelled.
Norma smiled at her beautiful son. She couldn't have been any luckier to have a son like him or like Norman.
-
As she admired them, she didn't notice the sheriffs suv pull up. She had only noticed when she heard Norman scream with excitement and run towards the man getting out of the car.
"Mom?" Dylan called, "Why's the sheriff here?"
"I'm not sure, Dylan. Let's go see." Norma replied, grabbing her sons hand and started walking my down towards Norman.
-
"Hi! I'm Norman!" Norman introduced, to the sheriff.
"Hi there, Norman. I'm sheriff Romero." Romero said, kneeling down to the boys height and smiling.
Before Norman could say or ask anything back, Norma walked up to her son and the sheriff with Dylan, giving a small smile and questioning eyes.
"Sheriff Romero, what a pleasant surprise." Norma said.
Romero stood up and smiled softly but quickly lost it, "Good afternoon, Mrs. Bates. I was wondering if I could get a room.".
Wonder washed over Norma's face, "Yes, of course. Boys, go upstairs and get cleaned up for dinner. I'll be up soon." Norma demanded, sweetly as she looked down at her boys.
"Awww, can we please stay with you and the sheriff?" Dylan cried
"Can he stay for dinner, mommy?" Norman asked, sweetly.
Norma looked up at the sheriff with a small smile, then looked down at her sons.
"If he would like to, then he can" Norma replied, kindly.
"Oh, I wouldn't want to intrude." The sheriff said, quickly.
"You wouldn't. You're more then welcome to have dinner with us." Norma looked up at the sheriff with a bright smile.
The sheriff looked down at Norman who was begging with his eyes.
Romero sighed, "Alright. But just this once.".
Both the boys jumped in excitement and hugged their mother then the sheriff.
"Alright, up to the house and get cleaned up. The sheriff and I will be up in a few minutes." Norma said.
Dylan and Norman smiled at each other, "Race you up the stairs!" Dylan yelled, as both of them started running.
Norma smiled and laughed softly as she watched the boys try and outrun each other. She then turned her gaze back to the sheriff who still had his eyes on the boys. Norma smiled wide and felt the fluttering feeling in her stomach again. Of course, she ignored it.
"Alright," Norma broke the silence and the sheriffs gaze at the boys, "let's go get you set up.".
Norma walked to the motel office and unlocked the door, walking inside, and went behind the desk.
"So, how long will you be staying?" Norma asked, as she took the card she needed from the sheriff.
"A few months, maybe." Romero responded, dryly.
Norma looked at the sheriff in shock, "W-why?".
Romero sighed, "I don't wanna talk about it."
"Are you sure?" Norma asked, with concern.
Sheriff Romero nodded. Norma gave him a sympathetic look and turned to get a key. She chose key eleven, knowing that the sheriff most likely won't want to be bothered by other people.
"Alright," Norma started, "would you like to put your things in the room before we head upstairs?"
"No, it's fine. I'll do it afterwards." The sheriff replied.
     "Alright, lets go." Norma smiled.
-
"How was your day, boys?" Norma asked
"Boring. Maggie made us stay in the office all day today, with her." Dylan whined
"That's alright. Tomorrow, i'm not going anywhere, so you guys can play outside all you want." Norma stated.
Dylan smiles widely and so did Norman.
-
"Both of you upstairs, go get ready for bed." Norma demanded, sweetly.
"Goodnight, Mr. Romero." Dylan said, hugging the sheriffs legs.
     The sheriff smiled, "Goodnight, Dylan.".
Dylan released the sheriffs legs and ran out of the kitchen to his room. Norman did the same thing Dylan did and ran after him. Norma smiled and grabbed the plates off the table, putting them in the sink. Romero walked over to the sink and lifted up his sleeves a bit.
"What are you doing?" Norma asked, wonder covering her face.
"You made dinner, so I clean the dishes. It's the least I could do." Romero replied
     "Sheriff Romero-" Norma started
"Just call me Alex." Romero cut her off.
Norma smiled her biggest smile and looked the sheriff in the eyes. He did the same. Both people were stuck in each other's gaze until a loud bang on the door made Norma break it.
