chapter 7: discovery

3 days til project: rebirth
My POV

enter password was still on the gigantic screen, my hands tapping on the the side of the keyboard

Jake: I've got nothing, how about you guys?

Yang, Zarya, and Lily shook their heads, then I looked at Olivia, who was just staring the screen in a sort of distracted look

Sombra: let me have a go

Jake: what?

Sombra: trust me.

I got up from the chair and then Olivia took over, she typed up a word in the enter password, clockwise. It worked, we were in, what she did next confused me for a moment, the screen turned into a overhead view of the area where we were when Mr. Mystery (that was the name I gave him for now) was giving his speeches

Jake: what are you doing?

Sombra: looking through security cam footage

Zarya: Huh?

Sombra: (sigh) since none of us could see who was giving the speech, then this camera did, so let's go back 2 days

She reversed the camera video til it was at the beginning, when the countdown to project: rebirth had began

Jake: there, zoom in on that person standing in front of everyone

The image enlarged to a guy standing in front of the soldiers

Chronos(over recording): SOLDIERS, I AM PLEASED TO SAY THAT WE HAVE THE OBJECT FOR WHICH WE HAVE FOUGHT FOR, NOW IN 5 DAYS WE WILL BEGIN PROJECT: REBIRTH, UNTIL THEN YOU CAN GO ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS, HAVE AS MUCH FREE TIME AS YOU LIKE, AND I WILL SEE YOU THEN.

Olivia rewound the video to before everyone spread out, I couldn't see who he was though, he had a black hood and wore a white mask

Sombra: have any idea who that is?

Lily: nope

Zarya: got me there

Yang: whoever he is, he's the reason we're all here, and he's also the reason why we can't remember anything

Jake: that's right, he's going to have a lot to answer for, so let's start with his name

They all nodded yes, then Olivia got out of the camera section and went back to the first search bar

Yang: type in chrono soldiers

She did just that, and what we found was astonishing

Sombra: says here that the chrono soldiers are the most elite group of people to ever exist, led by Chronos

Jake: Chronos, so that's his name, what else does it say

Sombra: it also says that he claims to be the God of time, traveling to different eras and worlds recruiting all kinds of people who he deems worthy, and one last thing, it says that 30 years ago he began searching for the sphere of control

Sounds to me like he only follows one rule, join him or have your memories taken

Sombra: well that was easy, we got what we came here for, now lets get out of here

I don't know, that was all too easy, Olivia getting the password right, getting answers to our questions, I felt like this Chronos guy planned all of this to happen

Lily: hey Jake you coming

Guess I'm going to have to stay focused, cause it's time to pay time a visit

Chronos POV

Chrono soldier #14: sir there's been an unauthorised access of the search room, should we investigate

Chronos: no no it's fine, I personally authorized them to use the search room

Chrono soldier #14: but that's not what's concerning, it was those who were part of squadron S

Jake, so you finally know my name, yet you have yet to understand my true plans, and that will be your downfall. I remember when we first met, we were not on the best terms, fighting you depleted most of my strength, but I'm the end I was victorious, I was then and I always will be

Chronos: if you see him and his friends tell them that I want to see them, a little congratulations for completing the mission the other day

Chrono soldier #14: yes sir

He exited my room, I'm glad he did cause needed some "time" to think, oh even with an immortal body my humor never ages. Still if he knew my true name, no nonsense, he will never know it, for if I so choose, he won't live long enough to say it. It was almost ready, just had to wait a little bit longer, then project: rebirth can begin
