before i officially start this story , i want to make it known that this book is dedicated to you. the girl who has never 'fit' in , the girl that's felt ashamed because they aren't what most boys fantasize about. the girls that don't have that 'hourglass' figure or the body that men praise on social media. the girls that are insanely curvey and beautiful and don't feel recognized enough in this world.
this book is pretty special to me because i was always the 'bigger' girl. i was never skinny enough for my grandmaw and i always felt like nobody would love me bc all my friends in middle school were so much smaller than me and all the boys i liked thought i was ugly and unattractive.
people would make comments about my weight all the time freshman year and it really bothered me. i looked at all these attractive guys and their girlfriends and was never comfortable or happy with my body.
this is to empower you. to show you that you are beautiful the way you are and somebody will love all the things you hate about yourself. steve harrington may be a fictional character— but daphne isn't.
i hope you can see a little of yourself in daphne and gain the confidence she has , and know that it's okay to have days where you don't feel your best but you snap out of that and appreciate all the edges and curves you were blessed to have.
