She was walking down the hallway. She was the most gorgeous girl in the school; in my opinion. I saw how all the other boys cat called her, and how the other girls glared because they secretly wished they were as pretty as her. She rolled her eyes at one of the seniors who grabbed her ass.
She turned around and smacked him in the face. I ran up to her and asked if she was okay. She simply nodded. I didn't believe it, because she was known to hide her real feelings. So, I decided to beat the shit out of him.
I took all my anger out on him. I threw many punches to his face, and he pleaded for me to stop. I was known as the ' bad boy ' in the school, who picked a fight with anyone. Well, that isn't entirely true. I do have some reason some of the time. But, this is a different story. I had to defend Kali.
Even though Kali was really pretty and popular, she struggled with depression and anxiety. I would often help her because she told me she felt safe with me. I would act like she was my baby sister. As I was done beating the living shit out of Nolan, I grabbed Kali by the hand and ran for my car. I took it that she got the memo, so she started running too.
I opened my car door for her, and she got in. I went and got in myself next. I drove to my house, and we went to my bedroom. Instantly Kali broke down crying.
"Hey, it's okay, shh..." I cooed. She looked up at me and gave me a slight smile. "I never really understand why you care for me so much, Colby.." she spoke.
I stood there frozen. Should I really share my feeling with her? I sighed and sat on the bed. She furrowed her eyebrows and gave me a weak smile. "You don't have to tell me if you don't feel comfortable" she said.
I sighed once more and cleared my throat.
"Kali, the reason why I stick up for you so much is that for starters, nobody should have to feel the pain that you go through." I started. She had a tear trickling down her face. I just wiped it away with my thumb. "Also, because Kali, I'm in love with you. And I know how this will work. You are the popular girl and I'm the bad boy. People won't like it."
"Colby---"
"No, it's okay if you don't like me back. I understand. You can't bear to be seen with me. I get--" But before I could finish rambling she cut me off with a kiss.
When she took her lips off of mine, she looked at me and smiled.
"Of course I like you Colby...."
