Almost halfway through the flight, Elizabeth looked towards Wanda who was fast asleep. She deserved to rest, Wanda really gave it her all while breaking out of HYDRA. Though Elizabeth wished Wanda had broke them out sooner, she knew the Maximoff had to wait until the best moment to strike. Eliza's thoughts wandered back to her first conversation with Pietro, where she said "Well maybe I'm the strongest girl on Earth."
After hearing stories from Pietro and seeing her fight today, Elizabeth now knew how wrong she was. Wanda was the strongest girl on Earth. Not only does she have the power of an Infinity Stone, but she brought herself to become Tony Stark's teammate and friend. Though he was partly responsible for the death of her parents, she pushed aside her grudge to protect the planet.

Elizabeth's attention was drawn to Wanda, who was beginning to wake up. Her eyes fluttered open as she scanned her surroundings, taking notice that they were miles away from the ground.

"We made it out," Wanda sighed with relief.

"Yeah, all thanks to you. You practically took down that entire building down yourself. You were amazing," Wanda couldn't help but smile at her praise.

"You are not giving yourself enough credit, you were the one who gave orders. I doubt we would have made it without your fast thinking," Elizabeth smiled, replaying the quick directions she gave in her mind.

"Thanks," the two sat in silence while Elizabeth's thoughts traveled. Unfortunately, her anxiety kicked in. She began to think about the reason she was rushed to give orders in the first place. "I hope Pietro is okay," when she turned to Wanda, she found pain written across her face.

"I'm sure he is fine, my brother is too stubborn to die," she chuckled slightly. "And along with his fast metabolism comes fast regeneration."

"Yeah, and we got him out of here pretty quick. I'm sure Dr. Cho is already taking care of him."

The two sat in a brief silence again while Elizabeth glanced at the GPS. They were minutes away from being home.

"I'm just glad we're finally free," Eliza broke the silence. "HYDRA may bother us again, but not to that extent. We're finally safe again."

"But what if the leader, your mother, is still alive. Won't she come back to target us?"

"I know she's not alive," Elizabeth sighed, keeping her eyes locked on her destination. She  felt too vulnerable to engage in eye contact.

     "How?"

"I killed her," she let out a shaky breath. "I knew I couldn't help her, that she would continue to make our lives hell. I loved her when I was little, she was my mom. But HYDRA killed her before I did, there was nothing left of her."

"You killed the only family you had left for us. I'm so sorry, Eliza."

"She might have been my mother, but she's not my family. The team is. I know I've only known you guys for less than a year, but you have shown me more kindness than I've ever experienced in years. I'd do anything for you."

"We would do anything for you too, Eliza," Wanda gave her a smile before turning to look straight ahead. The Avengers Tower was in sight. "We are home now."

Sam and Steve were waiting on the two girls as they landed. Elizabeth and Wanda sprinted towards them, pulling them into a group hug.

"I'm so sorry we had to leave you," Steve whispered into the girls' ears. "But I knew you could make it out."

"Well yeah, these are two badass girls we're talking about," Sam added. The four shared a little laugh, but Elizabeth quickly grew serious.
