Chapter 39: Reunion

Jonah should be back in a couple days.
Jake has been keeping me company but most days I just stay in bed.
I just replay moments with Jonah in my head.
Especially when we...ugh dirty mind Eden.
I remember when he let me sleep in his bed when the warrior captured me.
I yawn and snuggle further under He blankets
I'm still sick, and I truly can't explain why.
I throw up every morning and Jonah can't talk as much anymore.
"Eden?" Jake asks and I open the door
"Hey." I smile
He scans me up and down and smiles, I can tell he isn't saying something
"You look better today." He says and I smile
"Thank you"
"Anyway, Sandy is here to say hi." He smiles and I nod
I walk downstairs and wave
I finally agreed to hang out with her, the past few days I've been sick
"Where's May?"
"She's with Frasier, I needed some adult girl time." She giggles and I smile
"Sorry I blew you off, I haven't felt good at all lately." I look down and she rubs my arm
"It's okay I get it. I felt sick when...Frasier wasn't Around." She says and I nod
"Right." I sigh
"I know you miss him." She sighs and I look down
"I'm used to relying on him now...it's weird knowing that he's going home to somewhere else each night. I mean I can talk about stuff in therapy but something I just want to talk to him about. Plus I miss him like crazy." I whimper and she hugs me
"Hey, Eden. He's coming back in three days. No biggie right? You've got through the worst of it. I'm sure he's just as annoyed as you that he has to be away."
"Yeah. You're right." I smile and she nods
"So how's being a mom?" I ask
"Difficult. I thought pregnancy was the hard part, turns out screaming in the night is."
"Oof. I would still kill for that." I sigh
"I know, I'm sorry." She frowns
"I still have nightmares about Gio." I blurt and she frowns
"Your brother?"
"Yeah...he wanted to kill me. I mean Ewan is so nice and I love him but...I haven't spoken to him in awhile."
"Call him, I'm sure he misses you."

Once Sandy leaves I dial my brother
"Eden?"
"Hey Ewan!"
"Sis! Hey!"
"Hey, how are you?" I giggle
"I'm great, I heard about Gios charges being thrown out. I wanted to thank you."
"I didn't do anything, I just pushed a little."
"Still."
"Pssssh, moving on, how's Aenea?"
"Mmm. She's great, she's visiting her friend right now actually. How's that Alpha of yours?"
"I'm not sure really, he's out of town. He's been gone for almost three weeks now, should be back in three days." I sigh
"Oh," He sounds sad
"It's okay though, he's usually fine when we are apart, I'm usually the wreck." I laugh
"You okay? You told me you hate being alone."
"I'm perfectly fine."

I can smell him.
Jonah is nearby, but I can't get out of bed.
I think I'll keel over and die if I do.
I hear the door creak open and I look up
"Hey, princess." He says and I sit up
"Jonah!" I grin and he grins too
"Come here, I can't get out of bed right now." I yawn and he picks me up
"Mine." He growls happily
I kiss him
"God I missed you." I smile
"I missed you way more." He kisses me and I moan
"I hope you know how much I wished I didn't have to be there." He breathes and I smile
"Yeah, I know."
"Fuck I missed you." He says and I giggle
"I got it Jonah." I laugh
He smirks
"I don't care, please tell me Jacob didn't come around..." He says and I pale
"Of course not...why?"
"No reason, when you told you were worried about him I guess I got worried about it too."
"Don't, He didn't and I'm okay."
"It's not just that, he said something about meeting you and it really bugged me."
"You saw him?!"
"Of course..," He frowns
"What do you mean 'of course'." I snap
"It's his pack I was helping. His Alpha asked me to." He sighs and I whimper
"You didn't tell me..." I look down and he rubs my shoulder
"I didn't need to worry you, I already knew you were sick and unwell. I didn't want to make it worse." He sighs and I nod
"Right, I get that." I sigh and slump
"Eden..." He frowns
"I thought I didn't have to worry about him." I sniff and he kisses me
"And you don't, not unless I say so." He says and I hug him
"Okay," I whisper
Jonah PoV:
I'm finally somewhat relaxed now that I'm home. Work was a bitch.
I know she's tired and worried but something just seems off.
Like she doesn't want to tell me something...
She's asleep now, but she's not clinging to me like usual.
Is she bored of me?
Is it that I'm not enough for her anymore?
Doesn't she love me?
"Jonah, what's wrong?" She says
I was staring at the ceiling with my hand in my hair
"Nothing." I breathe shaking my head
"Baby I know something's wrong, you're heart is going crazy and you're staring at the ceiling" she says, propping herself up on the elbows
"Are you not telling me something?" I frown and she tenses up
"Of course not, why would I hide something from you?" She lies through her teeth
"Okay." I say, locking my jaw
