Izuku sat in the dining room and his father sat on the other end of the long table that could seat at least 12 people. It was katsudon, Izuku's favorite but he was just picking at the food.

"Are you not going to eat, Izuku? You've already gotten so thin." The words were cold, and his father's had never been cold to him before, the calm furry frightened him. The young boy knew he deserved more than just coldness from his father. Taking the hint Izuku picked up his fork and ate some of the katsudon. "Good choice, my boy."

"Are you not going to talk to me? I've missed so much of your life, why don't you tell me what I missed. Spare no details I want to know everything from the moment you left home." Izuku stayed silent for a moment and then he opened his mouth and nothing could come out, the words had died on his tongue. His father was patient, however, and Izuku was glad for this small kindness from the man. After a few moments, Izuku started to tell his father everything, occasionally All for One would interject for clarification, but for the most part, he remained silent. Once Izuku was done with his retelling Hisashi spoke and put forth a question that Izuku had been thinking of but never put to words, "Was it worth it?"

"W-what do you mean?" Izuku said startled by the question. He didn't want to hear it because then he wouldn't stop thinking about it. It was too late though. The greenette would stay up all night trying to come to a conclusion, but the loss of sleep was not what he feared. Izuku feared the answer.

"The words mean what the mean, Izuku," the words bit, slightly irritated from the stupid question of his son. Izuku looked down after he said that and felt the harshness of it. Was this worth it? He should have known that he would have to come back home eventually, that was just a matter of fact. The truth of reality. Izuku put his chopsticks down and thought. Was it worth it? Izuku made two mental lists to keep track of his racing and self-accusatory mind.

Worth it:

-I meet Akira

-I am a pretty awesome vigilante, no I was

-I screwed with my friend Tsukauchi

-I learned a lot about my quirk

-I learned a lot in general

-I can survive on my own if I need to now

Not worth it:

-My father is angry

-My brother is angry

-My teacher is angry

-My family was betrayed by me

-My name is on a wanted list, with my own pro hero and detective

-My life will never be as good as it was

-My family distrusts me

- I feel so alone .

Izuku felt the warm and fat tear rolling down his face and hugging his check in a sick form of comfort. The tears fell into his katsudon ruining the meal with sadness. The greenette looked up to his father. His father betrayed no emotion but Izuku saw nothing but judgment in the neutrality. His father's eye-less face stared at him, scorned him for his great transgressions, the father's coldness and sadness in betray forsook his son. But it was the son who forsook him first. All for one startled Izuku with his sudden movement, leaning forward hands coming together in calculation, waiting for an answer that would right, but there was no right answer for Izuku... His son furiously wiped away his tears, throat so sore he couldn't even swallow, the boy almost thought he couldn't breathe.

Izuku eventually managed breathed in and out through the tears calming himself, before he dared to open his mouth words struggling to sound a weak and feeble, "no" He was not sure whether he meant it or not. He valued his time spent with Akira and he would not have it be any other way. But he also hated this and would have it almost any other way. He betrayed his family and that could never be forgiven or taken back, it was an evil act.
