Onto The Chapter

Chaehyun had released two new songs and boy was he nervous. He had released songs regarding his feelings and mental health in the past, but these two have really highlighted his hurt and struggles. He wasn't sure how the fans were going to react, were they going to hate them? He had put a lot of work into those songs, it took a lot to express how he was feeling. Chaehyun had been flat out when the company released the songs, so when he entered the company bogeyed with his hair sticking up in every direction, he was not expecting to be greeted with a room filled with cheers and claps. 

Standing in the middle of the lobby area was all of the staff as well as all of his members. Chaehyun had one eye shut and one open with his lips pouted, he rubbed his eyes and looked around in confusion. He could've sworn his birthday wasn't for another month. He furrowed his eyebrows and scratched the back of his head in confusion. A few giggles at his reaction was passed around which confused Chaehyun further. 

"Someone explain to the poor guy," Johnny called out from the back. 

"Well, we know it isn't easy opening up especially to thousands of people, so we've gathered here to congratulate you on your latest release as well as the song you did with Lucas! You're trending number 1 worldwide!" One of the managers exclaimed with a wide grin. Chaehyun stared him down with wide, questioning eyes.

Chaehyun obviously thought his music was good, but he never thought people would relate to him or like it to the point where he was trending number one. Jaemin ran over and jumped on him, thankfully, Chaehyun managed to catch him without falling over. He spun around earning a large yelp from Jaemin. Chaehyun cackled evilly as he finally placed the younger boy down on the floor. After everyone slowly began moving, Chaehyun looked around for Lucas and Xiaojun only to find that they were nowhere to be seen. 

He pouted slightly but didn't get a chance to ask because Haechan and Doyoung were pulling him into a different room. Chaehyun couldn't help but laugh quietly when he saw his face on a board at the front and multiple balloons around the room which had been decorated with a lot of party decorations as well as a 'congratulations Chaechae' banner hung up on the ceiling. He was still half asleep, but it's never too soon to party. 

"We would've had this tonight, but we have a busy day tomorrow. So, we had to have the party at 9 am in the morning. Anyway, Lucas and Taeyong Hyung decided that you deserved to be appreciated, so we dedicate this party to you and your steps towards opening up and recovery! NOW LET'S GET DRUNK!" Ten finished off his sentence with a scream only to be slapped in the chest by Jaehyun. 

"We're not getting drunk at 9 am in the morning." 

Ten scoffed, "you're all boring." 

Suddenly, the lights cut out and Chaehyun couldn't miss the opportunity to annoy Jungwoo. So, he reached forward and grabbed onto his shoulders before shaking him roughly. Jungwoo screamed loudly which earned a loud laugh from Chaehyun. The other members rolled their eyes as the lights turned back on only this time they were dimmed. Lucas was standing in front of the stage with Xiaojun holding two cakes. 

"So, we're gonna celebrate Chaehyun's recovery but we're also gonna celebrate Xiaojun's birthday!" Lucas cheered into the microphone. Chaehyun pushed through the crowd and ran up to the stage, tackling Xiaojun into a hug. He then pecked his cheek numerous times which earned a subtle scowl from Lucas and a groan from Xiaojun. "Lips to yourself. No PDA in this building." 

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BABY XIAOJUN, I LOVE YOU!" Screamed Chaehyun earning a few chuckles as he held Xiaojun tighter. The younger boy threw his head back with a shy laugh whilst Lucas stood there watching the scene with a smile. Though there was a little bit of jealousy in the pit of his stomach, he couldn't deny how cute it was. "NOW LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED." 

The music began playing and everyone went off to do their thing. Lucas approached Chaehyun with open arms, the elder boy smiled softly and entered the embrace happily. They stood on the stage in a tight, loving hug. To everyone else, it looked like two best friends sharing a hug but only certain people knew the true intent behind the skinship. 

"Thank you for helping me and being on the song," Chaehyun mumbled into Lucas' shoulder. 

"Anytime." 

The two pulled back and did their personalised handshake before heading down the steps. They walked over to the corner where Mark, Johnny and Ten were standing. Chaehyun jumped up on Johnny's back, wrapping his long legs around his torso. 

"You're taller than a beanstalk, Chae." 

Chaehyun winked. "I'm longer than--"

 "Shut up!" The group screamed, covering newcomer Chenle's ears. Chaehyun giggled and shared a fist bump with Ten. 

What were they going to do with him?
