it was 5:53 pm

johnny and i were leaving at 6:30 to go on some super secret date that he organized for us

"kenziee!" lauren bursts in the room and yells at me

i look at her and roll my eyes laughing.

"soooo what are you wearing babe?" she's ask me sitting down next to me as i curl my hair

"i was thinking shorts and a t-shirt." i state plainly

"WHAT!" she screams "are you crazy! don't ever do to a mystery date in shorts and a t-shirt!" she exclaims and i laugh

"and why is that?" i question

"because mystery dates are ALWAYS fancy. plus johnny told me where you are going and that's not gonna cut it." after she says this i internally start to freak out

"what should i wear then?" i whisper shout trying to calm my nerves that conjured up.

"don't worry kenz i gotchu." she giggles strutting into my closet and dragging me along with her.

"you know johnny hasn't ever looked at a girl the way he looks at you. not even nadia." she coos and i blush. a lot.

"and your an amazing girl." she continues "he better not fuck this one up." she laughs

"i am pretty amazing i can agree." i joke and lauren punches my shoulder

"you wanna know a little secret?" she asks eagerly and i nod

"obviously"

"so after john and nadia broke up. well, after nadia cheated on john, he became what you would call a man hoe. he would sleep around and screw whoever he wanted without caring what others thought or how much he hurt those girls. and then not even a week after you came to live with us, he completely stopped. he never went out late. his wasn't on his phone 24/7 sending pics to whores. he wasn't sleeping around being a player. he dropped everything he knew to be his 'world' in hopes of having a shot with you. i think he loves you." she says pausing before finishing the last sentence.

i breathed heavily "wow" was all i could
manage to say.

lauren thoughtfully looks at me for a minute or two then snaps out of it and goes back to destroying my closet.
