JOHNNYS POV

"thanks" she blushes while i stand there with my mouth wide open in awe of the beautiful girl standing in front of me

"should we go" i eventually say and she nods

"do you wanna tell me where we are going first?" she questions and i shake my head "no ma'am that's a surprise

"what about a hint?" she begs and i chuckle "fine fine but only because your cute. ummm let's see it's a place very special to me and i have never taken a single person here. not even the boys." "wow i'm so honored" she jokes

"yea you should be."

my palms got sweaty and my breathily got faster every second we got closer to my surprise destination date.

i was so excited to take kenzie here.

this place was special to my family.

and she's special to me.

i see the large palm tree that signifies the road to turn on is up next and my heart drops.

we were 2 minutes away from either the best or possibly worst night of my life.

and to say i was nervous would be the understatement of a century.

"you ok?" kenzie asked me in a concerned voice. i obviously wasn't being very subtle with my nerves

"err uh yea i'm good just really nervous" i state truthfully

"don't be i'm an easy girl to talk to. and i maybe sorta kinda really like you." she giggles which calms me down a little bit.

i eases my grip on the wheel and make the turn into my grandparents old neighborhood

"are date is at a house?" she questions as i turn into the driveway of an old abandoned house

"not just any house." i say then i get out of the car and open her door up.

i give her my hand which she takes then giggles.

"this is an old abandoned house, and that right there" i say pointing across the street "is where my grandparents lived before they died."

"oh john im sorry" she says compassionately "don't be it was a while ago, anyways   me and lauren used to sneak over here and have picnics in the backyard, it was the highlight of my summers. so i wanted to bring back the memories and do the same with you." i say open the back gate revealing a perfect candle light dinner i set up overlooking all of town.

"wow j you did all this! it's amazing!" she gasps and lays her head on my shoulder admiring the view.

meanwhile i was admiring the other view, that being kenzie.

"let's eat" i say and lead her over to the table filled with a variety of meats, cheeses, chocolate covered strawberries and other of her favorite foods.

"john this is so beautiful" she repeats for the twentieth time and i just chuckle

"so tell me about this place" she says while stuffing her face with bread

"well me and lauren had a really good connection with our grandparents. they would watch us all the time when our parents were fighting. they were sort of our escape from the craziness that would go on in our life. one day we were out exploring and found this house. we have so many memories in this old beautiful dump. it's were lauren broke her first bone, i first peed my pants from laughing at her breaking her first bone, and in general i just really bonded with my sister. and so far your the only girl special enough to be able to enjoy the beauty that is a moldy abandoned house." i chuckle and so does kenzie

"well i absolutely love it." she coos scrunching her nose

i have such a good plan for this story but i feel like no one reads it so idek anymore :/

i'm gonna finish it foe sho but i jus wished it got more attention 😪
