"Maybe true love is a decision. A decision to take a chance on somebody, to give to somebody without worrying whether they'll give anything back or if they're gonna hurt you or if they really are the one. Maybe love isn't something that happens to you. Maybe it's something you have to choose." - Jacks, Love & Other Disasters

Dating experts say when we love someone we should lay all our cards out on the table. But, which cards are we supposed to lay out and isn't it true that sometimes we do this but only end up scaring them away?

On the other hand, if we say too little we get ourselves no where; not up, not down. Our chance just passes by us, turning into a what if? Then, years later we bump into the guy/girl and somehow it's magically easy to simply tell them: well, I was in love with you back then. Which is pointless because it's usually too late.

Yet, it seems childish to "scheme" a romantic pursuit like some teenagers, measuring and planning every move we make towards our crush.

So, how do we really play this game of love - and succeed? Is Jacks right?

Is there even a "right way" to love?
