                ~Kaliah's POV~

Melo: "why didn't you answer the phone?" He asked breaking the silence

We had been sitting in traffic for 10 minutes and this was the first time he had spoke

"I left it on the plane"

Melo: "wait you got on the plane?"

"Yeah but then I realized I left my makeup bag on the bench I was sitting at so I went to go get it"

Melo: "you got off the plane for a makeup bag?"

"Well sorta... the pictures we took from the mall are in there and I didnt know when id see y'all again so I couldn't just leave em" I said lowly

Melo: "so you went back because of the pictures"

"Yeah, I wasn't going to buy a little voice in my head told me to go back and get em"

I watched as he nodded

Melo: "well I'm glad you did" he said with a small smile

I looked at him like he was speaking another language

I had never heard anything sentimental come out of his mouth before

Melo: "you know that plane blew up right?"

"It did what?!"

Melo: " the engine caught fire because it wasn't ran long enough before the departure which caused the plane to literally explode in mid air"

My eyes started to water

Melo: "me and Mel thought yo ass was a goner. We called a million times but since you didn't answer we assumed the worst"

"All my shit was on the plane" I said through my tears

Melo looked at me like I was stupid

"I was gonna stay on the plane but that little voice kept nagging me and telling me to go get that makeup bag...I still was gonna sit there but then I checked my phone to see the time and my lock screen is the of you, me, and Mel from the first time I met her which reminded me that the new picture was in my makeup bag...I was on the phone with don asking him to call you when the plane blew up...I..I could've died" I said lowly

My heart sunk lower and lower as my brain processed what was goin on

Once we got to the house I ran in and hugged Mel who was standing there by the doorway

We just hugged each other and cried
