Unexpected

Eva could not sleep, no matter how hard she tried. She lay on her cot, looking at the ceiling in silence. She knew that the sun was going to set soon. She wanted to escape, but she did not remember the way out, and either way, it would be pointless, for there would be many guards around the place.

She turned, and her mind went back to the festivities. Eva had to admit; that she had fun. She had fun beating Callum in his territory but knew that her actions would have consequences. He kissed her to seal his vow. The young woman trembled as she got nervous about what Callum had in store for her.

The young woman could no longer lay down, so she dressed in the clothes she wore yesterday and got out of the room. Once out, she looked both ways.

There was nothing and no one in sight.

"Might as well look around."

Eva walked into the halls and was in awe of the architecture. The young woman heard footsteps. Eva stilled and looked around for a way out. There was a door a few feet from her, and she decided to run to the door. She opened it and went inside, closing it from behind her. 

She stood by the door and sighed in relief as she heard the footsteps disappearing. A sigh of relief escaped her lips.

"Well, morning lass," said a masculine.

The young woman flinched, and her eyes slowly faced what...no...who was in front of her. Her eyes and lips became wide open when she saw Fendus naked on his bed. She saw his muscular body on top of the sheets; his cock was in the clear. Even though not erect, it still lay proud at six inches in length.

Eva felt her face turning warm and covered her eyes. "I-I am so sorry! I didn't mean to!" Deep in her mind, Eva couldn't deny that she was impressed with how fit Fendus was. Fitness was not a thing in the past like in her modern era. "I wonder what his body would feel like! No! No! No! Bad Eva! Get your mind out of the gutter!"

Fendus eyed the young woman and gave out a chuckle. He also couldn't help but feel proud of himself. "It is no harm, lass. I did not expect ye to arrive," he said as he got off the bed.

The young woman tried very hard to suppress a blush. "No! I-I was trying to hide from the guards! I was just wondering around. I accidentally came to your room!"

Fendus wore his kilt but kept his upper body bear. "I am wearing some clothin'."

Eva uncovered her eyes, but she still could not look at him. "I shall be going."

"There is no need to leave, lass. I was havin' trouble sleeping, and I see ye too."

"Y-Yes, it was about yesterday."

"Aye, I know there is tension between ye and Callum, even though no one would say. Ye have great courage, lass; something I haven't seen in many. Is Callum hurting ye?"

"He is just a stubborn ass who can't accept that there are people who will not bow before him!"

"Interesting, lass." Fendus thought to himself. "Please know that I am here to help ye whenever ye need. Shall I walk ye back to yer room?"

Eva smiled. "Sure."

Fendus walked next to her and opened the door. Once Fendus opened the door, the two did not expect the visitor standing outside the door.

Callum and Lucas stood as he saw Fendus and Eva in Fendus' room. Callum's eyes were wide but held another emotion, anger.

Eva stood behind Fendus as he stood in front of her in a protective stance. Fendus could feel Eva's nervousness; he couldn't help but feel the need to protect her.

All were silent and eyed one another with tension.
