Miguel Endrizzi

Anxiety, fear, and rage coursed through my veins as I rushed back home. I didn't even care that my car wasn't parked correctly or I had left the keys in the ignition. Anyone can steal that thing for all I care. My hands shook uncontrollably as I tried to open the door. Slamming the door behind me I rushed to my art studio. I could feel a panic attack coming. I need my canvases, colors, and paints. I NEED TO PAINT.

Holding the brush in my hand, I let my run free. My hands-on their own accord led me to the darker palette of paints.

'Why was the world so cruel? '

'Why were the people so selfish?'

'Why didn't anyone care about how I felt? What I wanted to say?'

'Why did he do that to me? Why did he break me so much?'

'What did I do wrong? '

'Was it my fault that you left Ma... Pa..?'

My thoughts ran free as I painted all my frustration, anger, sadness, rage, and fear on the canvas. It was like I was in a trance and the only that could keep me sane was colors and canvases.

I woke up to the light rays trying to burn my eyelids. Didn't I keep all the curtains closed? I shot up from the floor where I was sleeping when I heard shuffling of someone's foot. Did someone break into my house while I was moping around?!
"Finally Up?" I heard the familiar voice of Ev as I was frantically looking around the room to search for the intruder.
"H-How...y-you...he-here?" I stuttered earning a soft smile from him. He took a seat beside me on the floor and began,
"Today was the day of the deed transfer. We waited for you to come but you didn't. I tried calling you but you didn't answer, I thought you might be tired and decided not to come so we proceeded with the work without you... A few hours later in the morning, I got a call. The person wanted to meet you. He said he had some important business that cannot be discussed over the phone. I knew how much you hated meeting new people so I thought to meet that person for you. And then I came to know the whole thing.... that bastard! How dare he scares my precious baby! You know I gave them hell for trying to mess with my poor baby...And after dealing with those pests, I came to check on you." By the end of it, he was gently caressing my back making me feel so safe. And that's when the dam broke. Hot tears rushed down my cheeks and I sobbed burying my face in his neck.
"Shh...You're safe Miguel. I'm here. No one's gonna harm you." He cooed as he gently hugged me, making me cry harder.

"By the way...you stink." I heard Everett mumble as he helped me up after my crying episode. Of course, I stink. I didn't bath yet. Idiot.
"T-Time?"
He checked his phone and replied, "3:45 pm"
Oh shit! I slept for so long.
"Just go wash off that filth. I'll prepare something for you to eat." Ev said with a chuckle and left the room. He's so good.

Coming out of the shower, the heavenly smell of bacon hit me in the face making my stomach growl. I rushed downstairs to the kitchen only to find the table laid out with all the breakfast food one could imagine. Yum!
"Hope you're into this cause I just know how to cook breakfast food," said Ev as he placed the stack of chocolate pancakes on the table. My eager nod made him chuckle. I mean who doesn't love breakfast food they are yummy at any time of the day!

"Here, your phone," said Ev handing me a device as I drizzled my pancakes in chocolate syrup. Yum!
"B-But...i-i-it...n-not...m-my" I stuttered handing it back to Everett who just pushed it back to me and said,
"Yup. But it's yours. The asshole who shouted at you gave it as an apology. He also said that there is something in there for you." He said pointing to the device. But how did he reach Everett?
I frantically looked around the room to find pen and paper so that I could write my thoughts making Ev stop munching on his food and hand over his phone to me.
"How did he find you? And didn't he want me to apologize for his fuckin suit?" I huffed as I showed him the message. Everett chuckled and said,
"When I met those bastards, they asked me to bring them to you but I refused. Like how dare they scare my baby like that and then ask for my help?! Don't worry I whopped their asses for messing with you. They won't bug you anymore. And that suit guy, Romero Valentino, asked me to give this to you and said that there's something for you saved in it."
I couldn't help but stare at the device in my hand. What is in it? Is it dangerous? Should I see it or not?

"Either you switch it on and see what's in there or just throw it. We'll just buy a new one," said Ev as he bit into his pancake. I think I'm being paranoid. Let's just check it and get over with it. There was nothing out of ordinary on the phone but the gallery had a video. Placing it on the table for both of us to watch, I clicked the play button.

"This is the last try. Do it, right bastard. I don't want his fiery friend to hand my ass to me!" A voice boomed as the camera faced the suit guy who I came to know is Romero Valentino. I couldn't help but chuckle at that. How much did Everett scare them?
"Just shut up and record!" shouted Romero running his hand through his hair, looking kind of frustrated.
"I am! " countered the guy behind the camera and Mr. Valentino sighed. Taking a deep breath he looked at the camera and began,
"Hi, Miguel...Sorry! Mr. Endrizzi. I am Romero Valentino, that coffee shop guy who shouted at you... I know what I did was... is cruel, heartless even... But in my defense, the shithead recording the video dared me something and I was in a bad mood became of it and I lashed out at you. But that wasn't right."  Damn, right it wasn't. You didn't even let me say anything.
"So, I would like to sincerely apologize for what I did. It wasn't right of me to do so. I should have let you speak...er...type. Sorry that I threw your phone away. This one is payback for it. I know an apology like this won't sound sincere but It's the only way I can apologize to you right now. What I did must have scared you and you wouldn't even like to be in the same room as me so a face-to-face apology has to wait... The phone has my number in case you need some help. Take it as my way to apologize. Once again sorry. "

And then the camera was flipped showing us the face of the person who was virtually responsible for the mess. With a Cheshire grin, he said,
"Thanks, Miguel, just because of you I got to see the great Romero Valentino being all fidgety and apologizing. Bye!"
And the screen went black.

I couldn't help but laugh at the moment. A very different way to apologize it was. Very entertaining too.
"That was one heck of an apology! " said Everett as bangs the table with his fist, laughing.

"I don't know what you think about it but I think that guy deserves forgiveness. I mean how many bastards have searched for you just to apologize for a misunderstanding or scaring you or misbehaving?" said Ev when we calm down from our laughing fit. But on second thought, he's right. Mr. Valentino made a mistake but he also made an effort to apologize for it. He kind of earned the apology. And maybe he deserves a little message...
