"What the f*ck is going on?"

Carrie took a deep breath and could not find the words to respond. "Seriously Carrie, what is going on?"

This was not how she wanted Harrison to find out.

"I can explain."

"You can explain what? What needs explaining here?"

"Come here."

"Not until you tell me what's going on."

"Listen to me. I'm going to tell you."

Harrison leaned against the kitchen counter. "I was planning on telling you today. I didn't tell you yesterday because we haven't seen each other for a month and I didn't want to put this on you at the same time."

"So the asshole that decided to tell you all this shit was working the day I came to look at paint. He showed me the blue we actually decided on and bet me a date that I would come back and get that exact color."

Harrison did not look happy at all about where this was going. "Harrison I did it to try and shut him up and to get him to stop trying to flirt with me. I walked out with 20 samples and I never imagined that would be the color that we both decided on."

"I owned up to the bet I lost and I didn't actually think he was planning a real date until I showed up and he had a whole picnic for us. He probably told you the rest which I don't want to talk about but he kissed me for a second. That did happen."

By now she completely broke down in front of him. "I'm sorry."

Harrison took a deep breath. "I really don't know what I should say to this."

"What did he say to you?"

"He told me you kissed him."

Carrie shook her head. "That's not what happened." She then said. "I knew I shouldn't of taken the bet but you know how we are Harrison. It just happened. And I swear nothing has happened between me and that asshole except for that kiss."

"What do you want me to say Carrie?" He asked as he sat down.

"I don't know," she answered. "But I swear nothing else happened."

"I"m gone for a month and this is the shit that goes on."

She took a deep breath. "I'm sorry."

"Were you really going to tell me? You could've called me and told me."

"I know but this is something that needed to be said in person."

"How long ago did this happen?"

"Last week."

"Okay."

"I'm sorry Harrison."

He stood up. "I'm pretty pissed that he had to tell me that."

"What? And that I didn't early enough?"

"No, that he took it into his own hands to tell me. That's messing with another man's business."

"So are you mad at me?" she asked.

"I wish it wouldn't of happened but I know where you stand in terms of us and if something was really going on between you guys you wouldn't be here right now."

"Nothing is ever going to be going on between us. I might pay him a visit tomorrow and give it to him."

"No need to," Harrison said. "I want to take care of this."

Carrie smiled. "You do that."

"I will. Don't you worry."
