Toby silently watched as you and Lyra danced in the forest right behind the Rogers' backyard.

He payed the most attention to your movement though;
the way your see-through, yellow sundress rode up into little wrinkles, resting above your swaying hips.

He could see your white bra right through the dress and even though you couldn't care to notice...
he did.

And in his twisted little mind he longingly dreamt that you wanted him to notice.

His big eyes wandered upwards, focusing on your hair.
It was in a curly mess, like always,
cascading over your
shoulders and covering a small amount of your face.

Really, you couldn't give a single fuck about brushing your tangled hair but in Toby's eyes it looked absolutely perfect.

You looked absolutely perfect.

He finally pealed his eyes away from your figure and looked down at the drawing in his lap.

He picked up a red pencil crayon beside him and started to fill in the lips of a girl that just happened to be you.

Yep, he was drawing you.
Originally he thought it would be somewhat of a good idea to thank you for getting him the pencil crayons last week.
It didn't stop there though,
it became somewhat mandatory
to draw your face.
And he didn't exactly know why.

When he looked up once more,
you and Lyra weren't there anymore.
"_-______... Lyra?"

Silence.

Was it possible that you and Lyra decided to go into the dark forest?

"Boo!"
Toby shrieked, turning around to face you.
You were laughing, of course;
your stupid grin never seemed
to wipe off.

"You scream like a little girl!
Yo, twitch, whatcha'
drawing?"
'Twitch' was the nickname
you gave Toby if you didn't feel like calling him 'Kid.'

He new very well that it wasn't supposed to be hurtful, but in a teasing way.
He seemed to pick up that you loved to tease people...
even if it would hurt them.

You took a seat beside him on the porch and threw an arm
loosely around his shoulder.
"Lyra's inside getting lemonade... so you can show me,
I won't tell her if it's gory."

Toby shook his head and closed his sketchbook, cleaning up the pencil crayons that scattered the porch floor.

You leaned over Toby to help him clean up... but it didn't help at all.

He felt his heart pound and even though he was numb to almost everything...
it didn't stop him from feeling very
hot.

You groaned at the sight of light in the early, damp, misty morning.

The dark trees swayed as the sun started to rise over them.
The sky was an intense shade of red, reflecting onto the
forest in front of you and making everything look so much more fall-ish
than it originally was.

You shifted your weight on the cold porch right behind the cottage.
Forcing your tired eyes to stay open no matter how heavy they got.

You couldn't sleep.

Not after that dream.

The dream of you walking through the dark forest at an ungodly hour of darkness, the whole world fast asleep as your bare feet made their way across the sharp, twig path.
