They ate mostly in silence because they were all hungry and the family was sitting with them too and they were asking Anya occasional questions.

"So General Woods, do we know what's happening? Can the government stop it?" Travis started. Still holding hope for a normal life again.

"I'm afraid not Mr. Manawa. The government thought the issue too mild before it went out of their hands. They tried to contain it by quarantining big cities like the one you're from, California, and evacuated smaller ones and transported them to the nearest base. But as of now, that base is dead too. The world we once knew, is now infected" Anya said in an even voice.

"Not surprised government doesn't take issues seriously here too" Raven snorted. Anya rolled her eyes.

"So, how do you know them? You don't seem like someone who would hang out with them" Madison asked pointing to the trio.

"We go way back. And we are very different. But we take to insults the same" Anya said. Her unspoken threat loud and clear.

Travis glared at Madison to stop talking.

"So you really are a General" Chris said as if believing her now.

"I am a General of the Army. And you would do well to not take that tone up with me kid. Because unlike anyone here, I do have a license to kill" Anya said in an ice cold tone giving a deathly glare.

Chris went pale. His mouth snapped shut. The trio and the siblings were all enjoying this.

"Forgive him General. He's stupid" Travis said in a apologetic tone. He knew Anya wasn't kidding.

"That he is" Raven muttered.

Chris glared at her but remained silent nonetheless.

"How do you know my daughter??" Madison asked in a accusing tone. She had seen how Alicia had hugged the General, while the others had stayed at arm's length...

"We go back" was all Anya answered. Not even a day with this woman and she was already getting on her nerves.

"Back where?!" Madison pushed.

"None of your business" Anya said in a even tone.

"It's my daughter. So it is very much my business!!" Madison said in a accusing tone.

"I don't think so" Anya replied still not wavering.

Lexa was just sitting and thinking how long could Anya keep calm and answer. The others were wondering the same too.

"Alicia! How do you know her?!" Madison demanded angrily.

Travis was shaking his head in exasperation.

"I think Anya gave you the answer to that" Lexa said with a straight face. The others were enjoying this. They had to try hard not to let their smirk lose.

"You dare talk to me like that?!" Madison fumed.

Anya's hand on her knife tightened. Which didn't go unnoticed.

"I just answered your question" Lexa said shrugging.

"You-"

"Madison. That's enough! Drop it! Stop creating a scene where it doesn't need to be! General woods have been nothing but nice to us. Trust her word and calm down" Travis spoke up before the conversation escalated.

Madison huffed out a breath and went in the yacht. Her food finished. Travis followed her giving an apologetic look towards Anya. Chris got up too. Not wanting to stay anywhere near the scary General.
