aged up adrinette where they've been together for years. throughout university, adrien mentioned the idea of marriage but marinette always shut it down, not because she didn't want to marry him but because the timing wasn't right and she wasn't ready yet so he stops asking
fast forward to them being out of school for a few years and they've finally started having a stable life but marinette starts to worry because it's been a long time since the marriage topic had been discussed and she goes to alya with an oh no what if he never asks me now
so alya convinces her that she propose because who says that the guy has to be the one to propose?
so they're out on patrol one night and they're watching the sunset at one of their favorite spots that gives them a beautiful view of the city when she turns to him and starts rambling in that adorable, quirky marinette fashion
and adrien just lets her, smiling softly until he freezes when she has a velvet box in her hand an a ring tucked between the cushions. she's looking at him hopefully but she's quickly confused when his smile gets even bigger and jumps up, stammering a bunch of nonsense before vaulting off and leaving her on the rooftop alone
she detransforms so she can at least sit in confusion with tikki because what is she supposed to do now, he just yeeted off with no explanation and ten minutes pass until she decides it's time to go home to try and find him but before she gets a chance to transform back, chat noir is back in front of her with the most excited look on his face and she's about to ask what just happened
and then she sees the box in his hand, the hand that's shaking from excitement rather than nerves and she starts laughing and as she's laughing, he detransforms so that plagg and tikki can watch their chosens, fondly admiring each of their stupidity
adrien starts talking about how he's had the ring for years but he was waiting because he didn't want to rush her because she always talked about the timing and marinette's laughing through her happy tears as he slips the ring onto her finger
he insists on wearing the ring she was going to give to him because he always thought it was silly that only the woman should get to flaunt the fact that she's about to get married, he wants to be able to brag that he's about to marry the most wonderful woman in paris too
