Recklessness and conflict

You strode alongside Lisa and sighed quietly. Your previous lash out and had made you on edge-what if they sought to kill you? Surely they'd consider such an option, you were defiant and a nuisance! They will kill you-!

You blinked upon the notion of Lisa poking you gently, her expression softening to see you snapped out of your stupor, "are you alright..? You seem tense.." her words were laced with concern and warmed your heart-you subconsciously let a smile slip onto your face. Your own worry soothing as she gave her own.

"I'm fine, don't worry alright?" You focused back to the front as she nodded slowly, Scp 035 glancing back at the both of you-to which you countered with your own wary gaze. He smiled wider, probably found satisfaction in your anxiety. Rude much?

"I suggest we search each room carefully." You perked up as Scp 049 regarded the group, "the scientists leave valuable items behind that we could use." You hummed in agreement, though it was soon replaced with uncertainty.
"I do believe we should split up as well; Scp and d-class."
Well isn't that just perfect.

You followed Scp 049 and glanced back to see Lisa and Scp 035 leaving the opposite direction, Scp 049-J joining them only because of 049's distaste of having him around-it was actually amusing in hindsight.

You glanced at the anomaly with you and tensed-keeping a suitable distance-he sighed softly and entered the side room. You swallowed down your fears and tried to start conversation while looking around-the silence proving too much to bear.

"I've noticed you seem determined to cure this 'disease'. Is it..by chance the bubonic plague?"

He faltered for a moment and briefly looked at you before searching again, "I do not know what that is. But yes, the disease is riddled within this foundation-the world-and it is my duty in life to cure it."
"Then what is the disease?" He let out an airy chuckle at your confusion,
"The disease is something you wouldn't understand. These doctors themselves fail to understand after all." He trailed off and continued searching as you frowned at the lack of a clear answer. But didn't mention anything for the time being.

You perked up and grabbed the small pill bottle within your vision. "I found something!" You squinted to read the label, "Scp..500? Oh! We will need thi-"
"We don't. My medical expertise is enough." He glowered as you sweat dropped.
"But this can cure anything!"
"Are you doubting me?" You quickly closed your mouth upon seeing his eyes contort to an expression of anger-his usually calm posture tensing and his hands twitching with ill intent.
But still, you frowned.
"Yes." You shook your head-feeling the need to try and reason with him, "no offence, but I can't trust you. I'd consider it a cure once I see the people who are 'cured' in good condition." With those words you stuffed the pill bottle and walked out of the room.
Your confidence shattering upon seeing Lisa hunched over, clutching her stomach tightly.

You stressed and paced over towards her before rubbing her back gently, "hey hey..what's wrong?" You felt pressure settle within your chest and your palms become sweaty as she swayed in nausea.
She sniffled and tried to answer before Scp 035 came marching down the corridor-his usual smile flipped to an unsettling frown of discontent.
"It was just a guard! He tried to kill you anyway!" He scoffed-his demeanour careless and off-handed, "everyone dies, get used to it!" Piecing the two together, you could assume that Lisa was exposed to someone's death firsthand. Poor girl.

You sighed, "give her a break..she isn't used to this at all..no one would be.." 035's glare wavered as he found truth in your statement-you both were just human after all..and it would surely take a toll on the both of you.

You slowly hugged Lisa close and allowed her to hide within your embrace-Scp 035 leaning against the wall and pausing, "where's the doctor?"
You sighed, "probably still looking through the room we were in, I collected scp 500 though." You gestured to the container in your pocket. Before pausing.
"Where's..where's 049-J?" Scp 035 snickered,
"He went off on his own way, didn't appreciate the lack of gratitude we had."
The silence crept in once again.

Lisa kept her face hidden in the crook of your neck-the close proximity was unnatural but welcomed. It truly brought you the true sincerity of humane company, away from anomalies with lethal power. If only it could last longer-to allow you to melt into the embrace that almost made your knees give out.

"We are moving on." 049 stood in front of the three of you-his tone icy and gaze hard. You had upset him, maybe more than you'd like. Of course you didn't want to anger him further, so instead of asking any questions you obliged and fell to a steady pace: 035 and Lisa on either side of you as the doctor had a more quickened pace.
...did it really hurt him?

No! You aren't going to feel sympathy for something like him! He is a psychopath! He was going to try and kill you! Even Lisa-
Calm down. You took deep breaths, the tension escaping your body. She was safe with you.

You turned to the mask as he tapped his chin rhythmically in what seemed like false thought,
"Oh dearie me~! You've certainly upset him haven't you? It pains me that not even I can wound him like this!" He let out a boisterous laugh as you winced.
"I didn't mean to.."
"I should hope so! Otherwise you'll cause a lot of trouble for us!" Faint purple pinpricks emerged from the darkness of his eyes-whispers caressed your ears which forced you to shudder. You felt powerless.

A shrill scream tore from your throat as you felt something grab your ankles-causing you to tip and plummet to the floor. You clawed and gasped for air-pleading for anything..anyone to help you. The floor beneath you withstanding every feeble attempt to grab onto something.

You were yanked down as your throat became sore. Darkness clouding your vision as the last thing you saw was 035 reaching for you.
