CHAPTER 25
"That one was epic. That went on for actual days," Madi says as she and Mal walk back to the hideout.
"Like it mattered, right?" Mal says as they reminisce.
"They were both undone by True Love's Kiss," Madi explains.
"Works every time," They say together with a giggle.
"I really thought that's what you and Ben had," Mal says causing Madi to frown. "Do you want to talk about it?"
"Nah. I'm not coming back, Mal," Madi answers as she unhooks her arm from Mal's. "I can't. I really tried to tell you."
"Yeah," Mal says sadly as she takes a few steps away from her sister.
"But, I mean, I saw the way your face lit up when we Jay asked you on a date. And I couldn't spoil that for you," Madi explains as she remembers the day.
"If you're staying, I'm staying, too," Mal argues.
"No. Mal, you are an Auradon girl," Madi says with a smile. "And I am... and will always be... the girl from the Isle." Madi grabs a rock from the ground before holding it out to Mal. Mal motions, with her head, for Madi to do it. Madi throws the rock at the 'danger flying rocks' sign, opening the gate. They walk up the first set of stairs before Mal stops and looks out at the Isle.
"I didn't know what you Were going through
I thought that you were fine
Why did you have to hide?" Mal sings as Madi stands next to her.
"I didn't want to let you down
But the truth is out
It's tearing me apart
Not listening to my heart
I really had to go" Madi sings as they share sad glances.
"And I would never stop you," Mal sings as she looks at her sister.
"Even though we've changed," Madi sings as she looks at her.
"Nothing has to change," Mal sings as Madi starts to smile.

We can meet in the space between," They both sing as they remember their times together in Auradon. From their first day to remedial goodness class to looking for the wand to their first tourney game to baking cookies to hanging out in their dorm to Auradon Family Day then finally to when Evie helped them get ready for their first dates with Jay and Ben. They then go inside the hideout.
"There are no words left to say," Madi sings as she grabs Mal's hands.
"I know you got to find your place," Mal sings as she looks at Madi.
"But this is not the end," Madi sings.
"No, you're part of who I am," Mal sings in agreement.
"Even if we're worlds apart
You're still in my heart
It will always be
You and me," They sing as they lean their foreheads together for a second before throwing their conjoined hands in the air.
"Yeah," Madi sings.
"You can find me in the space between," Mal sings.
"Where two worlds come to meet
