Naomi pov:

I opened my eyes groggily to find myself alone in bed. I sat up, ruffling my hair that probably looked like a bird's next and glanced around the room in search of Kazuo san. He wasn't there and I pouted slightly. Covering my mouth as I yawned, I got off the bed and went to the bathroom to get ready for the day.

After I was dressed, I lingered in front of the dressing mirror for several minutes, looking over myself and my stomach in particular. There was a little bump, an obvious giveaway that I was pregnant, and I caressed it lovingly with a smile. A light blush in joy and excitement rose to my cheeks too as I thought of whether our baby would look like me or like Kazuo san, whether we would have a boy or a girl and I couldn't help but wish for the next six months to pass quickly.

With a shake of my head, I left the room and headed downstairs so I could get breakfast ready. I stopped a little away from the opening that led to the kitchen though when I saw all of the chefs and a maid and butler standing outside while peering into the kitchen with expressions of worry on their faces. They flinched when we heard the clatter of a vessel as it fell to the ground and it was followed by a voice cursing. Curious to know what was going on, I walked closer to the chefs and peered into the kitchen as well.

Much to my surprise, Kazuo san stood near the counter, an apron tied over his clothes, and he was trying to cut vegetables and cook. He didn't appear to be very successful – there was water spilt on the counter and the floor, multiple vessels scattered haphazardly on the counter, the vegetables cut in all possible shapes and sizes, and Kazuo san had a bleeding cut on his finger on which he was applying pressure with his other hand. I brought a fist to my lips to hold in a laugh. I then shook my head and entered the kitchen through the chefs and came to stop next to Kazuo san.

I cleared my throat and he momentarily tensed before looking at me. "Naomi, good morning," he wished, sounding a little flustered to be caught in such a state.

"Good morning, Kazuo san. Did you sleep well?" I asked and he nodded. "May I ask what you are doing?"

"I-it's nothing," he mumbled and averted his eyes. "I just thought I could let you rest and make something simple for breakfast."

Bringing a fist to my lips, I laughed softly. I had got the chance to see yet another side of Kazuo san and I couldn't help but think that it was adorable.

"You could have asked the chefs to take care of it," I said in amuse.

"I guess...but I wanted to make you feel special..." he mumbled barely above a whisper. It made me overwhelmingly joyous.

"Thank you, Kazuo san. Would you like me to help you with anything?" I asked, not wanting to dismiss him right off the bat for trying to do something so nice for me. "I could teach you how to cut the vegetables evenly, if you'd like."

"That would help," he agreed slowly and I reached out to another apron. I put it on and then took a cucumber and began chopping it evenly. Moments later, I stiffened and stopped breathing when Kazuo san came to stand right behind me, his chest warm against my back and his hands on my shoulders. He rested his chin on one of my shoulders and I glanced at him with a smile and a light blush dusting my cheeks. I looked down again and continued chopping the cucumber. Goose bumps rose on my arms as he traced my arms with his hands before coming to rest them on my hands and move just as I did.
