They often combine their talents during research and such. They do it so often that Mahiru has a whole scrapbook of Hiyoko doing her thing. Mahiru would never notice the way that Hiyoko's hands shake whenever she watched without taking pictures, and Hiyoko would never notice that Mahiru barely moved her camera because she thought every angle of Hiyoko was perfect.
