This would be amazing! First dates, at least in movies and other relationships always are magical and fun. He had to plan everything according to what his date wanted, as he didn't know much about Togami's date preferences. That jerk always dodged the question whenever asked, so the basis Makoto had was,"Bookworm, self centered monologuer, high class." Since he was a C rank with Celeste, in exchange for a day as her servant, she'd pay all expenses.
First, they'd go to the casual expensive restaurant, Hanamura Diner. With Celeste covering, he'd be able to make the other see that with him, Togami could relax for awhile. They'd talk for hours about nothing, he hoped. Then, when dessert comes, he'll let him choose, and happily offer to feed him. Oh, are flowers too quick for a first date? What about chocolates? Well, after the restaurant, they'd go to the astronomy building, where they have a huge telescope. Makoto had studied for days about space, because it was interesting and he wanted to impress Byakuya.
——The weather forecast was brilliant, the moon was full and everything. Makoto came early, and stood in front of the floral shop a street down from the restaurant. A blossom could work, it isn't a full flower. Like an accessory! The sudden drip of water made him lift his head from counting the money. Oh no. He slammed down the 5 dollar bill, rushing quickly over to the door of the shop. Naegi extended a hand, feeling cold water seep through the crevices in between his fingers. No, it shall be fine! This way, he could walk with Togami under an umbrella.
He tucked the blossom into his shirt pocket and slipped into another shop, buying an umbrella and heading back towards the restaurant. The umbrella swayed loftily in the wind, and he approached the entrance just as Byakuya got out of his vehicle and approached Makoto with an umbrella of his own."Couldn't you have picked a better day?" He immediately asked as he got closer."I did! The weather said sunny today!" He protested, walking towards the restaurant. Disappointment already had weighed in and he was not ready for a bad ending.
The minute he tried to open the door, he noticed resistance."It's closed for repairs today," Byakuya pointed out, walking up behind Makoto."... There's another restaurant a few streets down, we can walk," He improvised quickly, though he glanced sadly at the closed restaurant. It had been open yesterday, when he checked. But no matter, he planned to make this the best date he possibly could. Togami already seemed annoyed, but made no more than an expression as they walked in silence. This wasn't how things were suppose to go either. Why did he feel so awkward talking to the lengthy boy.
——
Dinner went terribly as well. They were fully booked inside, and poor Makoto couldn't reject the tired greeter when they practically begged them to take an outside seat. Byakuya clearly wasn't enjoying himself, as per usual when he was around Nasgi. The conversation he tried to make barely seemed to interest the other, and the food was mediocre at best. But maybe, he could save the date. The rain cleared as he led them to the next location as night began to fall.Byakuya looked intrigued, though he kept glancing up for a reason Makoto could not identify. He excitedly walked in, gently gesturing for Togami as well, and they approached the large telescope."I bet you I can spot all the constellations!" Makoto boasted, trying to get a positive reaction." I doubt it," Byakuya commented dryly and Naegi leaned down to peer through the telescope.
Gray clouds
Not a speck of star in sight.
Makoto let out a sigh of defeat." It's cloudy, I'm sorry Byakuya, this date was a failure," he admitted sadly."So my time was wasted?" Togami asked quickly afterwards, to which Naegi removed his gaze. He heard a sigh, and glanced up to see the heir adjusting his classes."Fine. I'll plan the first date next time," He said curtly, turning around to leave."Next time? You mean you still..?" Makoto piped up, a smile forming on his face." I said yes for a reason, we'll just reschedule. Now off you go," Byakuya dismissed him quickly, but a warm feeling ruptured in his chest as he watched the heir leave.
Maybe, it was just a bit magical.
