I stared at the photo of me and Mama on the wall. I haven't talked to her in so long. After I gave birth to Ama, I couldn't face her; disappointment was always in her eyes. So I moved away from Orlando down to Miami. I never told her where I was, who I was with or anything. I just wanted her to forget about me," Mommy let's go!"

I looked over at Ama, who was struggling to put her dish in the sink. I got up from my chair and helped her put the dish in," You got everything?" She nodded her head and raised up her little bunny," Daisy's ready too?"
I gave her a smile," I see." She ran to the door and opened it. I grabbed my stuff and locked the door.

Ama ran to the car and waited for me to unlock the doors. I put her into the car seat and got into the car myself. I drove to Mary's house and dropped Ama off.

I made my way to the mansion and went to the Maid Hall. Penelope walked in as I finished putting on my uniform," I need you to clean the rooms today, Mr.Montana won't be in til later." I nodded my head and grabbed my supplies. I held the bucket full of products in one hand and the vacuum in the other. It was a workout getting up the stairs but I made it.

I started in one of the guest bedrooms, cleaning the unused bathroom and vacuuming the floor. I moved onto the second room and did the same. Once I finished, I took a break and sat on the queen sized bed. I caressed the silk sheets and inhaled the aroma of the room. I couldn't describe it, but it smelled like luxury.

After sitting there for a while, I finally removed myself from the bed. I grabbed the stuff and moved on. I continued to clean each empty bedroom. I had finally made it to Tony's room. I went to the bathroom first, spraying down the marble shower and counters. While wiping down the sinks, I couldn't help but look at myself in the mirror.

I looked so out of place, my curly hair was in a ponytail but it was everywhere. I quickly untied my hair and put it back in place. I straightened my work uniform that did nothing for my body. The color of the uniform drowned out my brown skin. How could anyone, let alone Tony, think I was beautiful. I looked dead. I felt dead.

I took one last glance and finished up the bathroom. I went back to the bedroom and hopped into the huge jacuzzi tub. I sprayed it down and scrubbed all the dirt away. I got out and ran the water, making sure all the dirt and product was gone," There you are."

I nearly fell face first into the tub. I turned around and Tony was walking in with his handsome friend. I stood up and moved my supplies out the way for him," I was just finishing-" Tony put his hand up," Stay-I like having ju around." I raised my eyebrow," Why?"

He grabbed the remote to the television from Elvira's vanity and shrugged his shoulders," Chu normal-ju know. I feel like I can to talk to ju about anything." Normal? Poor, basic, nothing special. That's what he meant but in a nice way. Not gonna lie that kind of hurt," Chu different. Special." Okay I was wrong. I tucked a piece of my fallen hair behind my ear," Thanks."

He walked over to the tv and poured himself a drink," Drink?" He gestured to me and I shook my head,"I don't drink anymore." "Why? Amalita?" He remembered her name. I honestly couldn't believe that. I nodded my head," I've been tempted, but I need to stay clear for her."

He nodded his head and sat down on his golden silk sheet bed and watched the television," Firefighters are currently putting out a mass fire on Sunset Drive. Reports say one of the owners had faulty electrical wiring causing the house to burst into flames. Catching neighboring houses on fire-" The camera panned over to the neighborhood. Firefighters were at the last house, hosing it down. The house looked oddly familiar.

The blue mailbox stood out and my heart felt like it stopped," No, no, no, no, no, no, no..." I dropped whatever was in my hands and ran out of the room. I rushed out of the mansion and   to my car. I sped off the premises and to my house. My neighbors, firefighters, and news reporters were all in front of my house. I rushed over to the burnt collapsing building.

One of the firefighters grabbed me," M'am you can't go in-" I didn't even recognize the tears streaming down my face," Let me go!That's my house!" The man grabbed me tighter," That's my HOUSE!" I fell back into his arms and cried. That house was the only sense of freedom I had. And it was destroyed. Everything was destroyed.

The firefighter loosened his grip, I elbowed him in the stomach and ran into the house. Everything was charred and in complete ashes. I grabbed the photo of me and mama and held it close. The frame was cracked and charred. The picture was still intact but was burnt around the edges.

I held it close to my heart, not wanting to let it go," M'am you need to get out of the house!" The fireman grabbed me and dragged me out. I brushed his arms off of me and collapsed onto the green grass.
